Hexagram History 101.,
By zonaras (Jimbo's House of Pie) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Six-Pointed Star: Its Origin and Usage (Paperback)
I took off a star because of the book's format. It is too small and reading a theological/historical treatise should not be as difficult as reading Audobon's mini Field Guide to Birds. The book's thesis is a valid and little known one that needs more widespread explanation, however. The Magen David/Star of David/Seal of Solomon/Hexagram is NOT of Jewish origin, but instead finds its origin in pagan idolatry towards Ashtoreth which was adopted by Israel's king Solomon in defiance of God's commandments. The six pointed star was used in Gnostic and even Islamic artwork and symbolism before it came to use amoung Jews. It was adopted by Cabalists who got their beliefs from the earlier heretic Gnostics who believed the God of the Old Testament was evil and worshipped Lucifer. Issac Luria was a Cabalist who popularized it in the sixteenth century and it was used on a coat of arms by the banking family of Rothschild. Further on down the line the hexagram was utilized as the symbol for Zionism and became the emblem of the Israeli flag. Much of the controversy surrounds the star's meaning. Jews claim that it was actually used by king David in the Bible, but in fact it may have been named after other Davids in history who were popular Jewish leaders. Also proposed is that the triangle pointing up represents God and the triangle pointing downward represents man. The symbolism is, however, a Cabalistic representation of the opposing forces (like the Eastern Yin Yang) that involves sexual congress and the loss of difference between male and female. It can also be a simplification of the more complex symbol that represents the Zodiac. The hexagram has the code for the Beast of Revelation in it--6 sides clockwise, 6 counter-clockwise, and 6 sides that form a hexagon in the middle of the figue. As a note, the author points out that the number six represents imperfection in the Bible, as opposed to seven which represents the fullness of God and His creation.

Historical Truth,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Six-Pointed Star: Its Origin and Usage (Paperback)
This book is historically true. Originally pagan, the Six-Pointed Star (hexagram), has been used in Baal worship from the days of Genesis. Rebuked in Amos 5:26, it became known as the Seal of Solomon after Solomon married the daughter of Pharoah, built an altar to Ashteroth, and entered into Baal worship. Since then, usage has continued in Solomonic ritiuals in the Craft (freemasonry). Long used in magic and witchcraft, the Six-Pointed Star has been used as the chief symbol of worship to Moloch in burnt human sacrificial rituals. Used by Druids and astrologers, the six-pointed Star has been used consistently in the occult, and was used by occultist Adolph Hitler, during the holocaust. In more recent times, it has almost replaced the Seven-branched Candlestick (Menorah) which was given to the Israelites as an everlasting covenant. There is a six within a six within a six in the six-pointed star - is this 666 a sign of things to come? The power of Symbolic Interactionism revealed at its best. What a book!

Well documented.,

I checked all the information in the Six-Pointed Star by Dr. O. J. Graham, and found them to be all accurate. I found out also, that even today Jews are not the only ones who use this symbol. Dr. Graham is correct in saying that the people in the occult, astrology, and witchcraft all use this symbol and that it really belongs to them. As Dr. Graham pointed out, because innocent Jews use the hexagram too, they are badly regarded by those who do not know that they are using it innocently. I checked the facts mentioned in the book concerning the Menorah (seven-branched candlestick) and discovered that God indeed gave the seven-branched candlestick to the people Israel as an everlasting covenant. Israel included the House of Israel, and the House of Judah (after Solomon's fall). I always wondered why the people Israel abandoned the use of the Menorah and started using the six-pointed star. However, the book by Dr. Graham settled that question, as he pointed out that Solomon used it when he went into idolatry and witchcraft after marrying the daughter of Pharoah, so a few may have adopted it then, even if it was not widely used. As Dr. Graham pointed out - Hitler put the six-pointed star on the Jewish people to insult them. But it seems to me that like any fashion - one person wears it, then many follow without checking the facts- apply to why so many take this as a symbol of being Jewish. It's hard to believe that even in his death, Hitler continues to insult the Jews - and now, by their own willing hands. Like the author, I do not believe that most of them really want to identify with witchcraft. The book is factual and impartial, and helps non-Jewish people to understand and stop their prejudices... I was happy for the information, and I give this book five stars.

This review is from: The Six-Pointed Star: Its Origin and Usage (Paperback)
The Six-Pointed Star by Dr. O. J. Graham, is an excellent book. I was very surprised to learn of the origin and uses of the six-pointed star and so I checked all the references myself and found them to be accurate. I am glad that an academic book took the time to research it so thououghly. The book is well-documented and I give it five starts.

I'm so happy that I had the opportunity to read this book. EVERYONE that's wearing the "Star of David" should read it. I've been searching for Biblical truth by way of my Hebrew roots and I wanted to wear the "Star". But i've changed my mind after reading this book. One thing I do recall from my research is that YHWH gave us the menorah not the "Star of David". Read the book you won't be disappointed; more likely upset.

The SIx Pointed Star ..its origin?,

This review is from: Six-Pointed Star: Its Origin and Usage (Spiral-bound)
I was a bit disappointed in this book. I do not feel that the writer has proven at all "the ORIGIN" of the star. The book would have been better had it been written as an historical work, rather than a theological treatise. While there are some historical points, and references, the book left me still wondering where the star was first used, and that is the question I had hoped the book would answer. Hence, the 'origin' of this symbol.

I BOUGHT THIS BOOK A FEW YEARS AGO AND IT WAS VERY REVEALING. THE CONTEXT IS VERY CONVINCING BECAUSE IT HAS BIBLICAL SUPPORT THAT IS WELL RESEARCH BY OJ GRAHAM.
THE SO CALLED "STAR OF DAVID" IS NOT JEWISH AT ALL BUT PAGAN. WRITTEN BY A MESSIANIC JEW HIMSELF, HE INFORMS US OF THE REAL SIGNIFICANSE OF THIS SYMBOL. READ IT AND YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT IT. THE MENORAH IS THE REAL SYMBOL OF THE JEWS, WHICH IS THE SYMBOL FOR YAHWEH AS THE LIGHT OF HIS PEOPLE. JESUS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. OSCAR MONTALVAN [...] 5/22/10

I bought this through Amazon and read it a while back. As I'd been coming-across references to this object for years in other works and desired to get a little more understanding of its origins (as there is a great deal of bold-faced deception and misrepresentation in the zino-controled Western literary world as-well-as the well-funded engineered Left and Right wing substance-less zino-ecclesiastical and civic cultures) I thought this book would be helpful. The booklet was helpful to a degree, and for that I'm thankful, but it was not the type of comprehensive footnoted reference work that I was looking for.On a introductory level in so far as is covered (and contextually contrasted ideologically) the author gets it correct. It will probably help fill-in some nooks and carnies of ignorance with most readers like it did me (even the little-bits can help) but all-in-all I would have liked to see (to use negation) a more comprehensive study on the topic of the star's anti-Abrahamic, anti-Davidic, and anti-semitic origins. Having said that, given the somewhat subjective nature of symbolism, with the histories so violently distorted via spin and blatant social-ideological rewrites, I suspect that at this point, non-conjectural Egyptian and Babylonian data would very hard to come by. Amos 5:26 "But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves." Acts 7:43 "Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon."
