5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on six sigma deployment, November 7, 2006
This review is from: Six Sigma--The First 90 Days (Paperback)
Dr. Stephen Zinkgraf is a pioneer in the early development of Six Sigma, and has finally written the book we all needed to have years ago. This book serves an important need in helping business leaders deploy Six Sigma the right way. Six Sigma will succeed or fail depending upon the successful application of the steps described in this book. Dr. Zinkgraf knows how to deploy Six Sigma. He has lived it himself and helped many others down the right path. Steve Zinkgraf shows how to link Six Sigma projects to the business strategy, how to select the right projects, and how to measure their success. After reading this book, any business leader will know their role and the roles of others within their organization to insure a successful deployment. Training requirements for the different roles are clearly identified. Lastly, Steve Zinkgraf shows how to align other parts of the organization, such as HR, to the Six Sigma program. This book shows leaders a clear path to insure success in their Six Sigma program. It is essential reading for any business leader. I've read many books on Six Sigma, but this is the book I should have read first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very solid, very good, January 8, 2007

This review is from: Six Sigma--The First 90 Days (Paperback)
I read this book cover to cover on the recomendation from an old mentor of mine who gave me my six sigma black belt training. Dr. Zinkgraf did an admirable job of combining current project, program and portfolio management techniques around a change management framework discussed in Kotter's 'Leading Change'. I didn't find a single typo and didn't get the sense that it was a 350 page advertisement for Dr. Zinkgraf's company SBTI. I would highly recommend this book to anyone involved with implementing six sigma into a corporate culture.
