5.0 out of 5 stars Coxe is a master!
Molly Coxe has written the perfect beginning reader for counting! The art work is magnificent. An extension activity for this book is to have children make their own artwork using popsicle sticks! The Step into Reading PLUS MATHS are the best thing going! (See other Step into Reading Plus Math books! )

As Mr. Murphy says, the book is good for introducing math concepts. We see several ways that the number 6 can be subdivided.

As Mr. Murphy says, the illustrations are spendid.

Just one gripe, though: the bindery work leaves much to be desired.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute book, good for beginning readers., December 28, 2011

My son loves this book! Great for beginning readers, and inspires creativity, as well as forgiveness when your friend makes you mad. In the book, two mice friends (a boy and a girl), have 6 popsicle sticks. They proceed to play with them, and show what they can do with six sticks.... like make 3 pairs of ski's, two swings, and much more. Towards the end, one mouse gets mad at the other, and so they each have 3 sticks and they each use them to make a tee-pee (one for a mad mouse and one for a sad mouse). At the end, they make up and use their sticks to make one mouse clubhouse. Very cute book.
