This is a very entertaining and thought provoking book. Perfect for when you do not have alot of time to devote to reading, but still want to read something stimulating. I read it while recuperating. It was great because I did not have the energy to concentrate for long periods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great additions to original collection, January 26, 2009
This review is from: Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak: by Writers Famous and Obscure (Paperback)
The new memoirs in the Love and Heartbreak edition are very entertaining. For the most part they are witty or emotional, but not super cheesy, as you might expect from a love-themed book.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of these, is "My Six Word Memoirs on Love & Heartbreak, February 9, 2009
This review is from: Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak: by Writers Famous and Obscure (Paperback)
I'm not famous and I'm obscure. However, I am a proud contributor to this wonderful, little, book. It's filled with, serious, funny, sad, frustrating, and clever, "Six Word Memoirs on Love & Heartbreak." It's a great book, and definitely a conversation starter. You can enjoy it yourself, or read it out loud. Pretty soon you'll be thinking of your own tales of love.

Like the other "Six word memoirs" book, these are highly addictive, and yet extremely packed with meaning. This book focuses on one of those universal topics most filled with drama - love and romance. So, these were especially poignant and even (from time to time) harrowing.

I can highly recommend this book; it's an easy read but I recommend that you read a few at a time and really think about what they mean and imply about their authors. Further, the book is highly re-readable and you are likely to have your "favorites" in the collection. Marking them out or writing them down will allow you to contemplate why they mean so much to you.

the smith mag folks did it again! the six-word format on love and heartbreak is every bit as smart and fresh as the first. the stories are uncannily moving, profound, and funny. i buy these books 10 at a time. totally original, cheap and fun dinner party presents. we pass them around and read the memoirs. addictive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Six Words Tell Your Life Story, January 30, 2010

This review is from: Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak: by Writers Famous and Obscure (Paperback)
A writer for our local newspaper wrote an article on Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak by Writers Famous and Obscure. I was intrigued and bought my copy from Amazon.com. I wrote some six-word memoirs about some of my experiences with love and hearbreak. I asked members, who belong to our antique car club, to try writing some memoirs of their own. I gave them plenty of examples ahead of time. We will be meeting on February 14th at a restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day. Couples who attend will be asked to share their memoirs with the rest of us. With the great variety of personalities submitting their memoirs, it should be a hoot. Lots of good fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartbreaking and Heartwarming, January 28, 2009
This review is from: Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak: by Writers Famous and Obscure (Paperback)
In just 6 little words one can "hear" the heartbreak many have experienced in their lives just as loudly as the joyfulness of new or abiding love. I resonated with every one, and have written my own.

A great follow-up to Not Quite What I Was Planning.

I give these as gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Six Word Memoirs of Love and Heartbreak, January 7, 2009
This review is from: Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak: by Writers Famous and Obscure (Paperback)
This is a fantastic book of Love and Heartbreak. You can pick it up at anytime and lay it down, knowing that you will be entertained by reading for five minutes or two hours. It is amazing how these memoirest are able to do so well with only six words.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky, August 12, 2010

I really loved this little book. It didn't have as many memoirs as I thought it would and was able to get through it in 10 minutes. There were a few that I copied down because I really enjoyed them. However, most of the memoirs were focused on heartbreak. After I got half-way through, it was getting very repetitive--same story, different words.

4.0 out of 5 stars Would have been better if I'd read this one at nineteen, December 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak: by Writers Famous and Obscure (Paperback)
This book would have been a favorite had I read it at nineteen instead of fifty-two; love and romance just doesn't have the zing it once did for me. I can't seem to get the pain of heartbreak any more. Is it my age?

I found the first book, little six-word tales of a life, much more clever.

Still, it's always fun to read such tiny stories.
