5.0 out of 5 stars FANS ONLY!!!, October 26, 2005
This review is from: The Sixth Sense (Audio CD)
For the real meaning of Latin music, some artists are ESSENTIAL and MILESTONES. Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan and Thalia are the true perfection of what it means to be a LATIN and they are far beyond compare with any other so called "Latino Celebrity". To get to listen good piece of music, you can always count on these artists.

But our time is more tabloid than ever. I hope it passes someday. What major American people are interested in is publicity whores and tabloid gossips instead of the real music. They consume music as if they are changing their sheets. It is nothing to be ashamed of, yet it is not classy.

Thalia is a unique artist who can sing. Yet, Thalia has always been some kind of "ignoring" about her career. She tries to be everything at the same time. She triest to show that she is in to all the things that a mainstream artist is; singing, acting, commercials, products, materials. But, Thalia also is an artist that does not care about her career. Since 2002, Thalia's products of art are less of her focus than her publicity stuff.

Thalia started to turn-out to be a wannabe in 2003 and left her unique, classy, characteristic Latin style. 2003 release "Thalia" album (a/k/a English Crossover) was EMI's J.Lo wannabe insert; and now "The Sixth Sense (a/k/a El Sexto Sendito)" is half breed with Shakira and J.Lo.

Well, saying this doesn't make me lose my fame of being a Thalia Fan. But, objectivity is the key to scientificity. Thalia's album does not derive attention from zero beginner fans. Lyrics are not catchy, music is not giving, stories behind the lyrics do not compile with Thalia's own life... So, in the world of 2000's artists like Thalia should learn and revise themselves in order to get back their uniqe place in the more than honored and elite Latin music industry.

To try to CROSS OVER brings along the crash down. If you take it as a natural step and fill the SENSE of what you say, you sell approximately 14 million albums worldwide, as Shakira did. People smell the "production" these days, and "Sixth Sense" is nothing to do with Thalia or her anyways possible sense of sixth. Album is essential for fans, 'coz it's a selection item; yet don't get mad at me because the music is not AA stuff. It's like a BB or at most BA.

Rated by me FOR FANS ONLY.

+ PLUS!!! EMI should learn to develop their strategies because they remained so 90's in the industry. A total marketing ERROR.

My favorite tunes in this album is "Loca", "Un Alma Sentenciada", "You Know He Never Loved You" and "Seduction". Yet, all in all, I bought this version of "El Sexto Sendito" just because I wanted to have an official copy of "Amar Sin Ser Amada (Raggaeton Remix) featuring Hector El Bambino" and "Amar Sin Ser Amada" - "You Know He Never Loved You" videos. 'Coz, in my country and on amazon.com they did not sell "Amar Sin Ser Amada" Single CD. So, I had no way out to buy this EXPENSIVE version. For economy savers, "El Sexto Sendito" (CD+DVD) version would do the same. (I OWN BOTH)
