Sixty, Sexy, and Successful: A Guide for Aging Male Baby Boomers (Sex, Love, and Psychology)
Excellent book, and extremely timely as we are now starting to see the Baby Boomer Generation starting to hit that magic number of "60". When reading this book, you start to be able to identify with, and understand some of the experiences you are encountering as you reach the next phase in your life. It's great to know, you are not alone, nor are some of the emotional feelings you are going through, are unique to you only. Only one negative comment.....being that the target market for the audience of this book are 60+ years old, I would have use abit larger type face. Some of the quotes used, may require a microscope to read.

There is no shortage of books about living with the loss of one's wife. Besides being directed toward men, this book goes beyond the tried and true principles of grief, mourning, and recovery to offer a host of new ideas.
My wife died almost 18 months ago of metastatic breast cancer. Her journey involved two years of treatment, two years being cancer free, and two years of recurrance before she died at the age of 60. We were married 34 years. As an ordained Catholic deacon, I work fulltime in a large urban parish. I have been treated for clinical depression for many years. My circumstances were, and are, rather complicated. I have not taken the typical path. It has been a surprising journey, one with more peaks and valleys than I imagined possible. In the past six months as the grieving process grew more serious and visible, I convinced myself that I was "nuts" for the lack of a better word. I became more and more confused and depressed beacuse I didn't follow the usual patterns and experiences. Sixty, Sexy & Successful was the turning point. I learned that my complicated journey isn't abnormal. Attitude is a critical factor and rather than being the depressed pessimist that I thought I was, I figured out that I'm really an optimist, one ready and able to find my new identity and new life. This wonderful book turned my life around. Yes, there are deficiences. I wish the case studies were more insightful. Some of the chapters, especially the earlier ones, seem too superficial. And, yes, the type is inexplicably tiny. Nonetheless, it's the best book on the topic I've read and the wisest investment I've ever made. At almost $40, it is an investment. But it's worth every dollar.

The book's title should give a hint about the target audience. As a person who is a member of the target audience, I have to tell you -- the typeface is so small I can't read the book.
The book might be brilliant. I'll never know.

Dr. Robert Schwalbe's book addresses a daunting number of issues in 22 well researched , reader-friendly chapters. It is chock full of scientific information, but to me the most interesting sections concern the personal case studies used to illustrate the problems and challenges faced by men in their sixties, together with Dr. Schwalbe's suggested approaches to those challenges. Virtually all of the issues raised are very relevant to women in their sixties (of which I am one) as well. I highly recommend this book ! Jane A., Princeton, N.J.

I bought this as a present for my dad because the cover made me snicker. How absurdly self-indulgent for an old man to refer to himself as "sexy" and "successful," but who knows it might be a less shallow book than I assume. Great gag gift either way.
