5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, December 30, 2002

I'm completely in love with this album. I just cannot stop listening to it. They remind me a little of Weezer. Or what Rivers Cuomo would like to be whenever he breaks out of his shell. Size 14 sound accomplished melodicly and just the right amount of punk to keep you bopping. They are certainly one of my new favourites...besides =w=.

5.0 out of 5 stars Goodbye, the worst thing.........., February 29, 2000

This is by far one of the best album's I have ever heard. I can not help but listen to it over and over again. If you are depressed because your girlfriend dumbed you listen to track number 10, it is guarenteed to bring a smile to your face. If you don't want to work and credit card bills are piling up listen to track number 9. I could keep going with examples because this album has a song for every situation. It is simplely a bunch of fun loving guys doing what they do best, having fun. It is definately a must have so before going order it you won't be sorry. Unfortunately the bad has broken up so there will not be another great album by them, so get a copy now before it runs out, amazon is happily standing by.

O.K., the space coast connection is singer Linus. He grew up in my hometown Melbourne, Florida.WAY TO GO LINUS....KEEP ROCKIN!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album worth the minimum wage hours to earn the dough, December 7, 1998

Though I consider Weezer my favorite band this self titled album by Size 14 is definitely my favorite c.d. With a mixture of the usual alternative sound mixed with lyrics that make you laugh, sing, and want your old girlfriend back, this isn't a disc that collects dust, in fact I think I almost melted mine I played it so much. If you like the samples I definitely suggest the whole Size 14 package.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pioneers of them good'n'stupid kind of alternative rock, May 10, 2003
This review is from: Size 14 (Audio CD)
Preceding the likes of such groups as Led Zepe... no,no,no,no- imean, the Bloodhound Gang, Swirl 360(?), and Blink 182 - SIZE 14 comes as one of those not-so noticed and quite under-rated band to've spawned a certain format in their "music" (incl the cd packaging and all (like these guys thanked satan in their cd credits while the Bloodhound Gang thanked God for 'nothing' in their '99 release HOORAY FOR BOOBIES)) which went down to the point of being 'stolen' such it seems by other managements who produce musical groups (other than this side of "Boy-band" manufacturers)- that in the end result, the format goes selling, while the predating purveyors went mostly unnoticed. These guys of SIZE 14 are such among those Losers ( i even got their cd from a bargain bin ). An evidential crud of what im talking about other than the couple of aforementioned bands is found in the group SUM 41(notice that band's name even).
The ..., craft of the songs in this (one-shot?) self-titled cd are enjoyable both in their lyrics and music which are oftentimes catchy - that nearly the Bloodhound Gang bares(sic) to also similarly carry out in their (already mentioned album above) cd called HOORAY FOR BOOBIES with its most of the time funny and yet saddening humour, the kind that you get and reminded of from channel E!'s tv show Talk Soup- leveling mostly on shallow sarcasms.

Featuring the song "Claire Danes Poster", SIZE 14 went to plug a greeting at one time on a local rock station in the Philippines after the alledged scandalous statements made about by the certain celebrity who bared the name on the title of the song, from having done a movie shoot on location in the said country; it's also quite peculiar that the band have a line on their song "Shane" that went "... I think I need to go to Philippines".

On another ground, like Sugar Ray brandishing a mock-appearance as a psuedo-'80s 'new-wave' group at one point in their video "When It's Over" that rather seemed confessional they've been up w/ that camp at one time -- SIZE 14 did such a stance on the other hand hitting on at Death-Metal with their song "Death Metal Steve"(that SUM 41 (also aforementioned above) also did on one of their videos guised as a glam metal band (yeah, needless to say they're not with anything original)) , which sampled a brief part that have the band riffing at Thrash speed - ...the guys could play a la Napalm Death. (Furthermore, another group that comes to mind at this point is WHEATUS, who did a quite similar theme on their radio-tired song "Teenage Dirtbag").

SIZE 14 comes as enjoyable as Weezer and Ben Folds...
As for the other number-tagged named band Matchbox 20- they fit quite so well to qualify in the one shot category; i mean is there any other song than "Push" that you would find notable coming in from that band? Luckily for those guys Rob Thomas had enough charm to attract women audiences to boost their sales.

On another level, the song "I Touched Her ..." is a 'testimonial' account of a guy who talks about what's on with the title.

The other notable tracks in this album are: "Prototype", "Rollin' on the 5-1-0", "Earthquake", and one of my all-time favourite "Superbabe 2000"- about a 'punk-rock' Sharon Stone - w/c i personally deem for that pretty babe on that church where a pastor guy named Steve fessed that he used to listen to Metal before he became a christian. :D

My copy of this cd (w/c is on Philippine-print) is one of those that i treasure the most sorta amidst my collection of record albums. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone - but if you'd like to check out the SIZE 14 cd, you won't likely regret it. I enjoyed it a lot.
