Loved It!,

Thanks to Gwyneth Bolton, I now have a thing for firemen. This book was awesome. I loved that Patrick realized from the very beginning that Aisha was different from the other women that he'd had flings with in the past. He was very patient with her and an excellent father figue to her son. I am also glad that Aisha realized that Patrick was nothing like her ex-husband and decided to give him a chance.
It was great to catch up with the other brothers and their wives and especially Ms. Carla. I really hate to see this series end because they were all well written stories and there is nothing like a man in uniform.

I HATE that this is the final installment to Hightower Honors series...but it's quite an ENTERTAINING and HEARTWARMING conclusion...and OH, BOY do I love me some Patrick...he IS THE MAN...in or out of his fireman's uniform...he's DEFINITELY got it going on...and he patiently works his "magic" on Aisha and her son Dillon...they made the PERFECT blended family...I was so glad to see Celia FINALLY give dear ol' Aunt Sopie what she REALLY deserves...once again the full cast of characters are LIVELY and UNFORGETTABLE...I can't wait to read Terrell and Maritza's story...talk about some DRAMA...this series is a MUST read...you will NOT be disappointed!

I loved this story. With everything Aisha and her son Dillion went through; it was nice to see a man come in and step up to the plate and be the man that her and her son needed. Her ex-husband was a straight up PUNK. I never been one for Firemen; but after reading this book, I am willing to reconsider. Out of all of the Hightower brother's stories; this is truly my favorite. A "Real Man" = Fire Captain Patrick Hightower.

7 out of 10 stars: Gwyneth Bolton's Sizzling Seduction,

This review is from: Sizzling Seduction (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love the romance genre, and Harlequins have always been proven to be especially ineffable since they're short, sweet, and simple. I'm not too big of a Harlequin Suspense fan, but I do love the very stereotypical "single-mother-meets-handsome-stranger-and-ends-up-marrying-him" ones. They are so realistic and easy to read; it explains why I have so many at home! However, I had never considered trying a Kimani Romance until I picked up a copy of Gwyneth Bolton's Protect and Serve. I read the back cover and immediately, I was hooked! I was excited to hear that it was actually a series, with three more books coming out after it. Sizzling Seduction, the fourth and last installment of Bolton's captivating and sultry series, tells the tale of the last Hightower brother and the love his heart is able to find. I actually did not get a chance to read the second and third books in the series, but the last book still made a wonderful stand-alone novel, and it was great to see some recurring characters (brothers of male protagonist, Patrick). Hope you enjoy Sizzling Seduction by Gwyneth Bolton:
Blurb: Some like it hot...Firefighter Patrick Hightower will take any risk in the line of duty. But risking his heart again? That's something he's vowed never to do. He prefers scorching affairs--the briefer, the better--though he might make a temporary exception for smart, sexy teacher Aisha Miller. Only Aisha isn't interested in exploring their instant, searing connection--no matter how much she feels the heat. Aisha has had enough of dominant men trying to control her life, and the gorgeous firefighter who visits her kindergarten class is alpha male through and through. Yet the gentler side Patrick shows, especially around her young son, gradually melts her reserve. As shadows from Aisha's past resurface, she'll discover just how far Patrick will go to prove she's found her real-life hero. Aisha has suffered enough to last a lifetime. Not only did her first marriage end with domestic abuse, but also, she hasn't been able to find a man in a long time -- she doesn't need one. Or does she? She doesn't quite realize how lonely she was until she meets more-than-gorgeous Patrick Hightower, firefighter, at the local station. From the beginning, the attraction is undeniable; even he makes moves on her. But Aisha won't leave her heart open that easily. The synopsis was really intriguing; I kept the book in my hands and I couldn't put it down because I had to find out what would happen next! Like most Harlequin books, it was a quick, enjoyable read. There were some things that surprised me though. The end was sort of predictable (your typical happily-ever-after ending), but in between, Aisha's ex-husband showed up. I did not see this coming at all. There was only one scene with him in the entire story, but with the first sentence describing his coldness, Bolton really made me hate him as character. Also, Aisha's adorable son tugged at my heartstrings way too often. He was so adorable but grew up without a proper dad, so it was really evident how unhappy he was. Bolton sure knows how to catch the emotions of her readers. In the end, I was so happy that Aisha and Patrick got married; solely because her son now had a good father :) I would totally recommend Sizzling Seduction for anyone who wants to read of variety. The novel was light-hearted and day-to-day paced, but there were some very intense (i.e.: steamy) scenes, and some really sad ones as well. It perfectly described a family fairy-tale, so if you like closing a book with a full, satisfied feeling, I would recommend you read this one. Rating: 7/10 stars- A few flaws here and there, but wouldn't mind rereading.

Gwyneth Bolton crafted the perfect recipe for a heart-melting love story.,

Sizzling Seduction took me back to the beginning of my love affair with reading--a cozy, under-the-blanket-with-a-pink-mug-of-hot-chocolate feeling. A steamy romance between flawed but lovable characters, two wills against all odds, and body-torchin' intimacy . . . Gwyneth Bolton crafted the perfect recipe for a heart-melting love story.
A quick read for me, but a novel rich with culture. Subplots involving family histories of secrecy and conflict and heart-felt lessons on the perils of domestic violence make Sizzling Seduction a provocative read for book groups everywhere. Though this is the last in a series and my first experience with the legendary Hightower men, the book stands alone with just enough delicate innuendos from previous novels to entice me to backtrack and discover just how the other three brothers sweep their women off their feet. In fact, as soon as I placed this novel on my bookshelf, I eagerly grabbed book number three. 5 Pink Diamonds Sistah Tasha of the SistahFriend Book Club

I picked up several of Bolton's books to read prior to interviewing her for my blog, and the first one I fixed my sight on was SIZZLING SEDUCTION, and I'm so glad I did. I tend not to read a lot of romances because after a while, it seems as if all the books have the same characters; there's just a switch of names, looks, and locations. SIZZLING SEDUCTION made me believe that perhaps I need to dip my toe back into the romantic pool because obviously Bolton knows how to write strong, good, complicated black characters who find love despite the issues that threaten to destroy their happiness. It didn't hurt that Bolton knows how to write seductive, hot love scenes.

Love Those Hightower Men !,
This review is from: Sizzling Seduction (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Drop dead gorgeous fire captain Patrick Hightower has been burned by love once before and has no intentions of going down that road again. That is until he meets sexy kindergarten teacher, Aisha Miller, when she brings her class to the fire station for a visit. A few more chance meetings, and Patrick starts to fall hard and fast. But Aisha is having no part of it. She has been married once before and does not plan on doing that again, especially with an alpha male like Patrick. However, Patrick is a Hightower male and when they see something they want, they don't give up until they get it.
Sizzling Seduction is the last book in the Hightower series, and Gwyneth Bolton does not disappoint with this one. There are several subplots that are going on simultaneously with the main plot. With her writing style, Bolton blends them all together and creates one hot read. The main and secondary characters are very well developed also. Bolton does a wonderful job with the culmination of this series...so well, in fact, that you hate to see the Hightowers go. Reviewed by Tenecia for Urban Reviews

There are several plot twists that you will have to find out for yourself. Now that said, if you lean in real close closer closer not that close:) Now you didn't hear this from me but (whispering)Miss Sophie is in love with her sister-in-law. I know shhh don't tell nobody else.
I just can't say it enough, this book is awesome.

Wow! It's over but all good series must come to an end. The Hightower Honor Series ended with a blast of fireworks. Patrick, the oldest of the Hightower brothers, is happy all of his brothers have found the right lady and started families. He loves his life as a firefighter, big brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. He has no desire to be in a relationship of any type, as he is still dealing with a past hurt. Aisha Miller, dealing with her own past, has her life back on track - teaching kindergarten, trying recipes from the Food Network, and raising her energetic ten-year old son. She is determined to stay away from abusive men, never giving another man a chance to abuse her verbally or hurt her physically.
A field trip for her kindergarten class to the fire station run by Captain Patrick Hightower gives new meaning to the words, protect, serve, love, trust, jealousy, and family. Aunt Sophie is still up to her old tricks, meddling in her nephews' lives and trying to destroy her brother's marriage to Celia. Each book in the Hightower series is well written, with characters and situations that are real and believable. Gwyneth Bolton has once again taken us down the road of twists and turns onto the street of drama, leaving us speechless. SIZZLING SEDUCTION is a stand-alone book, but in order to get the full impact of the Hightower series, I suggest you read the complete series in this order, Protect and Serve, Make It Hot, and The Law of Desire. Gwyneth, I have to ask, will Terrell and Maritza have their own story? Reviewed by Toni Bonita of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers

Firefighter Patrick Hightower never thought he'd experience the special kind of love his younger brothers and father have found with their significant others. Ever since he caught his former wife cheating on him he's focused on his career and kept his heart firmly encased behind a facade of bitterness. The last thing he anticipated is falling for a teacher who flat out turns down his request for a date.
Kindergarten teacher Aisha Miller has no intention of getting involved with another man. The only man she wants, or needs, in her life is her ten year old son Dillon. It hasn't been easy raising her son alone following her divorce but she's determined to break the cycle of abuse. She's determined to deny her attraction to Fire Captain Hightower but the stubborn man isn't taking `no' for an answer. His pushy dominant side Aisha could easily deny but it's when he shows his gentle caring nature towards her son that she's forced to admit he may be a force she doesn't want to deny. Patrick is stunned by Aisha's refusal to date him but he's certainly not about to give up on the only woman to excite him like this in years. Her continuous rejection has him seeking advice from his brothers, Lawrence and Joel, who take great pleasure in razzing him over the situation. Fortunately his brothers wives however, prove to be more helpful by slipping him information about Aisha's plans to take Dillon to Friendly's for Reese's Peanut Butter Cup sundaes. Patrick quickly realizes that the best way to get to Aisha is through her son Dillon but in no way is he prepared for the instant bond he feels for the little man. At first Aisha's furious about Patrick's interference in their lives but there's no denying that his presence is exactly what they need. As Patrick and Aisha's relationship becomes stronger she receives a phone call that signals the beginning of one of her worst nightmares. Patrick comes from a family of heroes but how far will he go to protect, serve and love Aisha and Dillon? Prolific author Gwyneth Bolton's character driven storylines never fail to touch her readers' hearts. SIZZLING SEDUCTION is the fourth and final book in the HIGHTOWER HONORS series and proved to be a sheer delight. All of the characters in this series has taken on a life of their own and endeared themselves to me but none more than Patrick. The love he feels for his family and his dedication to duty say much about his character but its how he treats Dillon that really had me falling in love with this man. I loved getting the opportunity to revisit the Hightower family and really enjoyed the drama that goes on - especially the showdown between Celia (Patrick's mother) and his Aunt Sophie. As the details about Aisha's failed marriage are revealed my heart really broke for her and Dillon and instilled a real sense of pride in the strength of will she possesses. While it's not necessary to read all of the books in the HIGHTOWER HONORS series in order to enjoy SIZZLING SEDUCTION, I do recommend you do so because there is so much background - and they're just delightfully fun. The other titles in the series are: PROTECT AND SERVE, MAKE IT HOT, and THE LAW OF DESIRE Chrissy Dionne (courtesy of Romance Junkies) |
