Book Description

An Erotic Romance for Food Lovers
***Cook, Screw, Read***

Chef de cuisine Mae Whitten is forced to step into the executive chef's job when her boss goes AWOL in this steamy contemporary romance. She's a focused professional in the world of fire and knives and the lone woman in a major hotel chain's kitchen full of testosterone-driven colleagues.

She keeps her private life on a low simmer until she makes a snap decision to taste a delicious stranger. Things really start to sizzle  when she finds out that the man she thought was a short-term guest has come to Singapore to temporarily fill the head honcho's job. Mae finds a chef who really knows how to bring the heat and crank her flame to a full blaze!

Contains "recipes for romance"--a short collection of scrumptious dishes featured in the book. Because satisfying the appetites is what Carnal Cuisine erotic romance is all about. Cook up something spectacular for those moments (before or after) that you just have to come up for air!

Content warning:  For adult readers only due to mature content. Bring a fan.
Recipe warning: Tempting concoctions are not for those on a celery and water diet. Read at your waistline's risk!

K.C. Falls writes New Adult romances packed with action, danger and characters who will steal your heart. Her series, Year of the Billionaire is available now on Kindle. Just released: Sea of Destiny series--Hooked, Wrecked and Rescued.

K.C.'s Carnal Cuisine books are based on the lives and adventures of culinary professionals and were previously published under the pen name 'Torri D. Cooke. The author has always felt that people who regularly work with fire and knives are sexy and a little dangerous.

"Even in the busiest, the trendiest, the most elevated of kitchens, the basic premise remains for those to whom the profession is more a calling than a job: to give the people more than they expect. To know, without hearing, the sighs of satisfaction and the murmurs of contentment that really good food elicits."

Mae circled the pool again and turned over on her back to float through the blue light of the grotto. Nick heard her approach and moved to the edge of the ledge where he sat and watched her slowly   skull toward him. He still couldn't get a good look at her face, but he appraised the floating orbs of her breasts and her nipples, erect from the cool water.
Time to make my presence known and see if the water nymph will play. He cleared his throat and the sound brought Mae's head up as she turned to face him. It's the little kitchen wench! My lucky night. Nick smiled at her small gasp of surprise and then the look of recognition. He wondered if she was going to bolt.
"Isn't this a pleasant surprise?" Mae said as she made her way to his perch on the grotto's ledge. "I was hoping I'd get the chance to see you in that garment you claim is a bathing suit." Mae approached with slow lazy strokes and rested her arms on the ledge next to his dangling legs.
Nick could see that she was having a long hard look at him as if making some sort of decision. His erection was plainly visible even in the dim light and there was nothing he could do to hide it. If it made her uncomfortable, she wasn't telegraphing that at all. Instead she seemed cool and not the least bit self-conscious.
She rewarded him with a wicked little smile. "Now that I've seen you
in the eye patch, how 'bout slipping it off and joining me for a swim? You did imply that you enjoy being naked."

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

The setting of this book is the country of Singapore where the author had the good fortune to live some years ago. K.C. teamed up with an awesome graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School to offer a simple cooking school for 'Amahs'--the nannies who came from the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia who were a ubiquitous part of expat life. They taught the nannies how to make regular American and European 'comfort food' and in return, the ladies shared their own delicious cuisines. The author was also privy to many "Amah dramas". But that's for another book . . .

From the Inside Flap

Fifty percent of the profits from this book will be donated to Panama Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). Presently, Panama has no shelters, no animal control, no humane society, and no animal protection. Thousands of animals suffer in so many ways. PAWS is dedicated to a vigorous spay-neuter program that provides no or low cost operations to help control the animal population as well as other health and immunization services.  We are working toward expanded services and would like to be able to provide no-kill shelters, aggressive education about humane care for animals and so much more. You can help by enjoying this book and recommending it to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot and Spicy August 5, 2012

My wife reads all sorts of stuff on her Kindle and occasionally I pick it up and look at what she has downloaded. This book caught my eye because I'm the cook in the family and I'm interested in anything that has to do with food. I got hooked when I read the first sex scene. I've read one or two 'hot' romances when there was nothing else around and got really bored with all the sex code words writers tend to use. Well, there's no code in this book--you get the picture loud and clear. As a man, I appreciate the frankness of the language. Much more of a turn-on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and Hot August 2, 2012

Wow, this one starts off with a real bang--literally. There's a scene almost at the beginning that lets you know that you're in for a very sexy read. I liked the pace of this book. It was a book that was hard to put down because the characters are so intimate at first and then the real relationship starts.

I bought it because I had never seen a book that combined recipes and erotica. Not that it is such a strange combination, just not the usual. I was kind of confused by the numbers that appeared beside the recipes. I think the author needs to explain that they are references to recipes you find at the end of the book.

The action is fast, but makes sense. I liked the mystery of the missing chef that is never resolved in the book. It makes me want to see what happens in the next book that is about him.

I found myself wondering what I would do if I found myself in Mae's circumstance. I like it when I can identify with the characters. The actual romance part of the story is really very sweet. I can understand their confused feelings. Each one had these preconceived ideas about the other and that colored everything up until the end.

I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but the roasted peach salad dressing is going to be the first because it's so unusual. I will definitely follow the blog to see what other recipes she puts up from the book. There are a lot of dishes mentioned. I may actually email her (as she says to do) because I want the recipe for the Tuscan Chicken soup that inspired my fave little sex scene in the book that had me laughing.

All in all, I think this was well worth a few bucks. Highly readable and with a bonus of the food angle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Twist in an Old Idea November 30, 2012
By Just Me
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As some others have already stated, adding actual recipes to the romance genre only makes things steamier. It sets a good example on how someone COULD very well be inclined to try both the sexual scenes presented, as well as the recipes for their significant other.

It's well put all in all, adding a good twist to an otherwise known genre.

4.0 out of 5 stars chef's cooking in the kitchen March 6, 2014

Mae is a chef in a upscale hotel. Her boss leaves and doesn't tell anyone where he is going. His nephew Nick comes to take over while he is away. Before Nick & Mae are introduced to each other, they meet in the pool and can't fight the attraction they feel for each other. But when Mae feels herself falling for Nick she has to put the breaks on before she ends up hurt. Can Nick convince her that they belong together? Will things work out between the two of them?
Read it to see how things end up between Mae & Nick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely recommend! August 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was one that I could not put down. I love a book when I can find aspects to relate to a character or know that I would have reacted in similar manner to something that happens. That being said, this book is well written, and I love the addition of recipes. It was neat to be able to have the recipe for what they were talking about, as I have never before read a book that offered that as a component.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Story August 17, 2013
By Tiffany
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a fun read. The heroine completely overreacted as a main plot point, but the author had a good reason for her to, so I can forgive that.

It was a sexy, fun read. I would recommend it to a friend that likes sex in their stories.

This was ok, nothing special. Just a quick read with very little substance and a few explicit sex scenes that lacked sophistication.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad
Great love scenes and as a foodie I liked that they were chefs. Plot was a little trite and anticlimactic, but a nice fast read.
