It is heavy! Have a couple of friends with you to help move the box containing the top. I also purchased the cabinet that mounts under the bench. This is assembled first, it is quick and easy and it turned out absolutely square. The trestle is next. The cabinet is enclosed in the trestle as it is assembled. The top is HEAVY, did I mention that? Have a couple of friends help you with it.
What I found very satisfying was that every piece fit perfectly, every dowel, every pre-drilled hole every screw, nut and bolt was a perfect fit. The box contains a small continer of glue for the knobs on the vice handles and a container of oil for touch up I guess, the entire bench and cabinet was very well finished and oiled. When the vices are closed the jaws meet perfectly. If you are looking for a HEAVY workbench to last you the rest of your life and then pass on to your son this is the one. You won't regret it for a minute.

I have the Sjoberg Elite 2000 which I bought from another supplier since it wasn't available from Amazon at the time I purchased it and find it to be every bit as great a bench as the other review mentions. I wouldn't hesitate a second, especially at this price, to buy it. The fit and finish is outstanding.

This is a great workbench, very well built and finely finished. It takes at least 2 very strong men to lift and position the top on the base. Make sure the dog holes in the base are on the same side as the front vise , you don't want to lift this top twice. Simple base assembly, easy to understand instructions.

The Sjoberg name is synonomous with quality workbenches. The top of the line Elite 2500 benchtop is long, thick, heavy, dense & tight grained oil finished hard Beech. The vises utilize heavy steel construction with thick solid Beech jaws. The 1" dog holes & included dogs make clamping every workpiece you can throw at it a breeze. It is is rock solid on the floor as well (stable & secure). I have used mine for a couple of years for woodworking activities such as sawing dovetails, planing stock, dryfitting & assembling carcasses and general household duties. I actually bought an Elite 2000 for my woodshed because the 2500 in my woodshop has been ideal. Go ahead; treat yourself right and get the best you can afford. No Regets; Highly Recommended!
