Outstanding Album,

If you are a serious Reggae fan this is a must. After 6 years of Reggae on the River in Northern California the music comes out. The second CD is a live recording from the 1998 ROTR and it totally rips.

Yeah, Ranglin and Mozart -- they are different. But this album (the live part) is just on a completely different, and higher, level than almost anything else I can think of and thinking of other musicians and albums that just surpass everything else, Mozart sprang to mind. Ranglin is just amazing, but he has so few recordings that really do him anything close to justice. This one does--or comes close anyway. There is almost nothing else out there that is like it in style or originality or sheer understated ecstatic funk. Ranglin is just such an incredible guitar player who plays with such fluid virtuosity and exuberance that it is almost like you aren't listening to him play guitar, you are just listening to him. And when you listen to him, you realize that this guy has got some serious soul. This CD is in a class by itself as a completely original ska/reggae/jazz/ranglin masterpiece and stands with the best of the best of anything, regardless of genre.
