Nice Looking, But Just Doesn't Last, January 7, 2008
This review is from: Skagen Men's 233LGSC Two-Tone Mesh Bracelet Watch (Watch)
I'm not surprised to see that most of the positive reviews here are from fairly new owners of this watch. I bought mine at a retail store and really loved it for the first 6 months until the movement died and I had to send it back to Skagen for coverage under the warranty. After they sent me a new watch (more about that later), it lasted another 8 mos until I thought the battery died. It turns out that the movement broke on the replacement watch as well. I'm not even going to try and send it back again. It's a shame because it really is a nice looking watch, it just doesn't last. In addition to the movement problems, my one year-old bent the band back and kinked the mesh, breaking several wires on the side which I found myself always struggling to keep from snagging my shirts.
Now to the "warranty repair": I sent the first watch to the official Skagen's North America repair center per the directions on the warranty card. After a month began calling and left 6 messages with their service dept. over a period of 4 weeks attempting to check on the status of the repair. I finally talked to someone through their sales staff who took my info. Fortunately I got a manager's name and after two weeks and sending them proof of delivery from DHL twice, got them to admit that they lost my watch. Three weeks later I received a replacement. Now you see why I don't want to go through this again.
In summary, it's a nice watch, especially for the low price here at Amazon. It just doesn't last.

Elegant, but be aware of some features., May 16, 2006
This review is from: Skagen Men's 233LGSC Two-Tone Mesh Bracelet Watch (Watch)
It would be hard to find a classier watch. A few things to consider, though, before buying. The picture of the watch sold for $58.99 by Watchsavings on Amazon is not quite accurate. That picture appears to show black hands and markings and a black ring around the watch face. The one I received (which is still beautiful) is gold accents only, no black at all. [Note: the other pages offering this same model watch by other sellers for higher prices DO depict the watch accurately.] If this is what you want, great. If you're getting far-sighted with the passage of years, though, the reduced contrast between gold and the white face will have you peering momentarily to read the hands. Not a major gripe, but some may be bothered more than I. Also, don't overlook that it has no second hand. Having said all this, I still think it's a gorgeous watch and it's my second Skagen. Will probably get more.

Super Slim!, October 10, 2007
This review is from: Skagen Men's 233LGSC Two-Tone Mesh Bracelet Watch (Watch)
A real nice watch for a great price. Very slim and looks great for those of us with narrow wrists. The Skagen design is very classy. This same watch costs 50% more at some stores at the mall, and that was on sale.
