Great watch, 2 areas of concern, February 3, 2008
This review is from: Skagen Men's 433LSLC Black Leather Watch (Watch)
Got this watch as a dress watch based on my wife's recommendation. I have worn Casio G shock watches for the past 20+ years and had no reason for a nice watch. Now I need one and wanted something plain. This watch fit the bill. Light, thin, comfortable and the classic, simple look I wanted.
The watch arrived from Amazon with a dead battery. Luckily, Amazon includes that wonderful note with the watch that tells you your brand new watch might show up with a dead battery and that this can easily be solved by replacing the dead battery. Huh? Good thing my car didn't come with a note like that.
The other issues is the band. It looked a lot nicer in the pictures. Although it is leather, it looks like plastic.
This is a great casual watch. Unless you can find a nicer band, it isn't very dressy.

Crystal Cracking Watches, May 3, 2007
This review is from: Skagen Men's 433LSLC Black Leather Watch (Watch)
I have purchased three Skagen watches including 2 of these leather watches and one Chronograph. All three have broken crystals within the first month. The chronograph shattered when I set it down. It was not even dropped. The style of these watches is the reason I purchased them but I should have know that you give up quality for a low price. I now have one working watch out of the three. Look somewhere else.

OK, but not great., February 15, 2010
This review is from: Skagen Men's 433LSLC Black Leather Watch (Watch)
I have owned a similar Skagen watch for four years or so. Like other comments, the crystal cracked after less than a month, but I had it replaced at a watch repair place and never had a problem again. This watch looks and feels great, but there were two problems with the watch I owned. First, the watch band is only replaceable by ordering from Skagen directly for about $35. I've always gone to Target or Wal Mart to buy new leather watchbands, but this style is very unusual, and what is really annoying is that you can't get it from a Skagen retailer or find a knockoff anywhere. I replaced the band about two years ago by printing out and mailing back an order form to Skagen--no Internet ordering. What a pain! Next, the watch stopped every month or so. At first, I thought it was the battery, but my watch repair place said the battery was fine. By pulling out and pushing back in the stem, the darn thing would start again and be fine for another month.
This month, both the watchband and battery needed to be replaced, so I tossed it in the trash and am looking for a similar watch in another brand. I love how the Skagens look, but I'm very disheartened about their reliability.
