Book Description

This is a very compelling story about a successful semi-retired 30+ year entrepreneur that, against his better judgment, got involved with an MLM called Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing (FHTM) back in 2009. Top FHTM leaders, and its founder Paul Orberson, tried to run him out of the business, and destroy his life, after he created a FREE Facebook style tool-set for the network marketing industry. Following FHTM's 2nd cease and desist from the Montana AG office, he filed a complaint with the Kentucky BBB explaining their fraudulent and deceitful ways, in an effort to get reimbursement for inventory. Shortly thereafter the "blame game" begins, when they make him the global scapegoat for everything bad, as Mr. Isaacs is hit with a frivolous and libelous Federal lawsuit claiming a trademark violation for marks they never owned. This was a foolish attempt to gag him and stifle his rights to "Freedom of Speech" to save them self from being branded as an "Illegal Pyramid Scheme". The stress of the harassing litigation caused multiple life-threatening heart attacks. Mr. Isaacs almost died in 2011. This story will keep you mesmerized by the deceit, sexual harassment, lies, and drama that unfolded over the next couple of years

1.0 out of 5 stars crap June 13, 2013

The numbers are all public record and his personal recollection is just that. I was a FHTM believer and got screwed but this guy is a classic victim. He comes off as the smartest guy in the room then claims he joined FHTM because he was manipulated and lied to. He was looking to make a buck. Also his personal attacks are classless

5.0 out of 5 stars Harsh Reality of Multi-Level Marketing Told April 28, 2013
Verified Purchase
Full disclosure. I am strongly prejudiced toward this book - favorably. I participated in some of the events described in the book as the author, Joseph Isaacs, began blowing the whistle on the multi-level marketing (MLM) scheme, Fortune High Tech Marketing. This business is now accused by the Federal Trade Commission and several states of operating an enormous pyramid scheme. As an expert in pyramid schemes, I conferred with the regulators in Montana, a state that prosecuted the FHTM scheme long before the federal regulators woke up to it. As president of the non-profit consumer education group, Pyramid Scheme Alert, I was quoted in the media explaining how the FHTM pyramid scheme operated and its financially devastating consequences. And, when Joe Isaacs was sued by the scheme, I wrote a "friend of the court" brief in his defense which was made part of the court record.

Yet, even if I had not been directly involved, I would offer the same 5-Star rating. This book is a very important contribution to a body of work that unflinchingly tells the terrible truth about multi-level marketing - that it is a massive Main Street swindle; that it is politically protected from law enforcement, and that it engages in a relentless fleecing of millions of Americans hoping to realize the American Dream.

Fortune High Tech Marketing is the perfect illustration of this sad and disturbing reality. It swept into cities, attracting high powered business and government leaders who then misled thousands of other local people to invest hundreds or thousands in the plan. In Charlotte, NC where I live, FHTM gained the early endorsement of the wife of the former CEO of Bank of America, among other local stars in business and sports.

Joseph tells the story of many MLMs. Amway has their own problems, the Amway Tool Scam. Google "Stop The Amway Tool Scam Wordpress" for the details.
