I have really been enjoying my time with Skate 3. The game improves upon everything I loved from the original Skate and Skate 2. I spent an absolute disgusting amount of hours playing Skate 2 and received all 1500 gamerscore points. To say that I am a veteran of the Skate series may be an understatement. I had a great time in San Vanelona, but amazingly I have been enjoying the new Port Carverton even more. The locales are much more skate friendly. Each of the districts (University, Downtown, and Industrial) offer unique places to skate and have a great time.Also I love the new online options. The ability to create a team with Xbox Live friends and complete challenges works very well. For fans of freeskate it is back and it is awesome. Having troble completing a career challenge? Jump online and get help completing the challenge with members of skate's dedicated community. Skate 3 also features an improved soundtrack, skate park editor, and all sorts of great customization to create your ultimate Skate team online or offline. As stated on the official website skate.Create and Share is back and better than ever: "skate.Create and Share - Returning favorites skate.Reel and skate.Graphics are back. The all-new Skate.Park is an open canvas for players to create their dream plaza or mega-ramp park. Once created, they can share their masterpieces with the world by uploading them directly from their console. " If you liked the original Skate or Skate 2 you will love Skate 3. Black Box has loaded the title to the brim with amazing content. The game is now more accessible than ever with three difficulty options (Easy, Normal, and Hardcore), although the game may still be a bit difficult even on the Easy setting for newcomers. Thankfully you can practice the basics again and again with the assistance of Coach Frank. For those new to the series I would recommend that you download the demo from PSN or Xbox Live prior to purchase. You will need to get used to and practice the flick-it controls. It shouldn't take too long before you can start busting some mad tricks. Oh and did I mention the awesomeness of the Super-Ultra Mega Park? See you on the streets of Port Carverton!

Positive Movement for the Franchise, Loss of Local Multi-player Disappointing,

A lot has been said about the improvements of Skate 3, so I thought I would bring out the few items that really matter to me.Pros - * They got rid of the security guards. The game setting is a city that embraces skateboarding, so it isn't necessary. * Improved load times on tasks where repeated reloading is required - i.e. bailing before completing the 4 required tricks only requires hitting A once to get started again in less than a second. Cons - * The local multi-player games have disappeared. My two young sons are finally at an age where they like playing. The local multi-player "Own the Spot" challenges on Skate 2 were our favorite as it gives a time limit to everyone's turn... This doesn't appear to be present now.

Ok, first off this game does improve a LOT on SKATE 2 in some areas, but IMO its overly glitchy especially online, and lacks a lot in playable terrain compared to SKATE 2, but I digress-The Good- More refined Better character control off and on board You can Deck Check/Punch people Its more fun in a lot of ways than 2, less frustrating except for a few spots You can customize decks, shirts and other gear to suit your taste or logo preference The Bad- The character editor for custom gear of your own taste is often limited by where it allows you to place things, IE you cant put a logo on the back of a hat or multiple logos on stuff There is NO way to actually save a game manually, its an auto save which is normally fine except this one only saves when you unlock a set achievement. So if you bust out a gajillion point trick and then later turn off your console because you are done playing its gone, and wont reflect in your stats unless you do some cool stuff then do an event and beat it thus causing the game to save. Thats ok at first, but once everything is beat you can forget about it saving what you did(which brings me to my other point) There isnt that much to actually do in this game, like way less than 2. I only did the actual contests etc casually as I mostly free skate and I beat this game in a month Not a lot of playable terrain, its not one big city is three small areas that are in no way connected and you must 'beam' yourself between these areas. The playable map is like 1/2 or less of the map w/ all kinds of dead space in between they should have filled w/ terrain to skate If the game was 20 or 30 bucks, it would be worth it but not at current price its a waste of money, might as well have been an expansion for as short as it is All the cool codes and stuff you can get for parks, gear etc;, are online only which means you must have XBox live to get the content All the online stuff is horribly glitchy, doesnt work more than it does and is a general a royal cluster flop on EAs side, Codes dont work as they should, stuff wont download etc Graphics you make dissappear or wont load etc etc etc EAs total lack of concern for the players who paid way to much for an under featured game w/ serious technical issues and glitchs galore none of which EA is really rushing to fix My opinion is if you like the SKATE series, buy it, but WAIT until it hits the 20 Dollar shelf at your local Big Chain store and hope its issues have been fixed online wise but dont expect too much 2115|R2B54BBERVJCCK;2115|R18RNYR8VS1RVJ;2115|RWBK6IEDTBHDS;
