I bought these because I really liked the style. 1st thing out of the box I noticed the material of the toe, heel and sides seemed to be some kind of vinyl, like cheap sneakers from a dept. store, but I tried them anyway. Left insole was glued in with a wrinkle in the toe, right insole same thing-wrinkle in the heel, so I pulled them out and put in my own.
The really bad thing about these shoes: that plastic material that is supposed to look like distressed leather-it is a weird coppery-orange color coated with brown pigment,maybe brown crayon? The brown pigment rubs off VERY easily, (on the leg of a table, a stone, even the sole of the other shoe), leaving big streaks of orange. Within a week I had shoes of a color I would never BUY, but now I OWN. A week and a half later the stitching is coming apart alongside the laces. Poor materials and workmanship, if I hadn't recycled the box-they would go back. Tried to write a more neutrally worded review than this on Skechers website, but once submitted it said they would review it and MAYBE post it. They didn't, but did post someone raving about the style instead. Hmmmm...last pair of Skechers for me.

Mine has the same defect as described by William from California in another review, namely the interior liner is not affixed properly so a wrinkle develops which is keenly felt by the foot all the time. In the shoes I received, the defect is in the heel of both shoes.

I also agree that the construction of the shoe seems sub-par for Skechers. There is a general cheapness in feel and appearance to the shoe.

I've owned the shoes all of one day so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and wear them up until the return date and re-evaluate. At that time I will edit my review.

ETA: I decided to return them. They are just too cheap and tacky looking for my tastes. A friend of mine described them as "pimp hikers."
