Tongue Fell Off as Well, March 13, 2011
This review is from: Skechers Men's Ultimatum Casual Sneaker (Apparel)
Bought these shoes and really enjoyed them, at first. Comfortable and quite stylish. Walking through the Riverwalk area in San Antonio, I stopped to adjust them. Pulled very lightly on the tongue and "pop", it detached. pushed the tongue back down and continued to my hotel.
Somewhere from the time I adjusted the shoe and reaching my hotel the tongue fell out of the shoe. Didn't think it was possible with the laces holding it down but it came loose and took a hike. Disappointed as I really enjoyed the shoes. To their credit Shoebuy did issue an immediate refund when I returned them but I'd asked for an exchange. Obviously they know there's a problem with these and issued a credit instead of giving me a new pair.

Good Shoes., May 3, 2009
Dressy "tennis shoes". Don't have a lot of support, so do not expect to wear them all day long.

Shoes look amazing but fall apart quick (EXTENSIVE REVIEW), March 30, 2011
This review is from: Skechers Men's Ultimatum Casual Sneaker (Apparel)
Hey everyone I bought these shoes not to long ago and it took me forever to come up with a decision. I looked on numerous sites and saw some decent reviews for these shoes but I also heard some bad reviews as well. To sum it up these shoes look absolutely amazing to start, the leather on them is a nice dark color, and the leather does tend to somewhat crack but not to the extent that I think it looks bad. As for some reviews people have said that these shoes (A) were not comfortable for long periods of time and (B) had the inside heel rub off. I must say from my experience (being a 20 year old college student walking around campus all day) that these shoes are fairly comfortable (in my opinion) in part probably due to the relaxed step insole in the shoe (not a great insole but does the job for me) and as for the heel rubbing off I have only had these shoes 2 weeks so I havent seen that happen yet.
As for my compliants first is the sizing, I normally wear an 8 in shoes and ordered a size 7.5 because due to the cut of the shoe (the blocked off toe) I feel they run at least a half size large. I would almost even say I could wear a 7 but that would be a stretch. Make note that I have a skinny foot though, if you have a wide foot a normal size may do but for me I needed a half size smaller.
Second THE ISSUE REGARDING THE TONGUE ON THE SHOES IS TRUE, I dont know if just a few oddballs have commented on this but after 10 days, yes 10 days of wearing the tongues in one of my shoes became "detached" because there are only 10 poorly sewn stitches holding the tongue on, in my opinion the stiching on these shoes is not up to par so quality wise probably not that great but again they look fabulous.
Lastly realizing the tongue on the shoe came detached i was faced with a dilemma, rather than returning them (bought on amazon from shoebuy, good shipping time by the way) because i love the shoe this much i think next week i will bring these shoes by a simple boot/shoe repair shop and get them restitched onto the shoe.
I hope this works out but to all people looking to buy this shoe out there remember that (A) the shoe looks great and in my opinion is comfortable (B) is (in my opinion) a half size to large for those with slim feet or regular feet and lastly the stiching in these shoes (most notably the tongue) is poor so odds are these will not last that long.
I hope this review has helped you all in your decision.
UPDATE: So this is an update, I brought my shoes by a shoe repair store that is going to fix the tongue and add more stiches to both shoes of $10, im happy but this is a hell of alot of crap to go through for a shoe. Let me know if you have any questions.
UPDATE: So I received my shoes back from the shoe store repairing the tongue, they reattached it and in addition added stitches to the other shoe to insure it would not fall out, overall it was $10 and im pleased but still quiet a pain to go through all of this for one pair of shoes.
