As someone mentioned, the soles do wear away quickly. I have been wearing my pair since January, but they're still useful. It rained recently and I finally felt water leaking in on my right foot. The ball of my foot area had a very small hole. It's ok, I plan to wear these until they're totaled. Since I knew I'd wear them out, I bought another replacement pair 4 months in, which I haven't worn yet.
These are light and easy to put on and off. I wear these to school everyday...actually I wear these pretty exclusively. They might not be beautiful, but I don't care. I sacrifice fashion for comfort any day. I'm thinking of actually wearing these to my graduation. They're that awesome. I'm buying like 2 more pairs before they ever get discontinued lol!!!! You should too!!!!
*EDIT*: April 2015, I did wear these for my graduation (August) after all! While all the other girls were wobbling around, wincing in pain from their high heels, I received my degree in comfort :P I still wear these all the time, even to the gym.
The downsides... I really do not think they are very cute. I don't like the stitching on the top of the shoe. It makes them look like aqua socks. The marshmallow knobs on the soles grab hold of small pieces of gravel. Be careful to check them before walking on hard wood floors. I think that what makes the shoes so lightweight and comfortable also causes the shoes to wear out quickly. I wear the shoes daily and the sole knobs started to visibly wear within the first week. After for 5 months, they are completely worn out. These shoes also have the potential to spoil every other pair of shoes for you. Because they are so comfortable, I find it difficult to wear others. I often wear my Go Walks when I should wear dressier shoes. My comfort trumps my style.
They are super, super light weight and the canvas is surprisingly sturdy. They're well constructed and easy to slip on. There's a very free range of motion, and stay on well should you need to run for the bus. There are a lot of fun colors so far, and I've seen some Mary Jane varieties as well. Some waterproof spray makes these okay in rain, too.
The sole is made from Resalyte, which makes it ridiculously light. While that's great, it also wears down really quickly. In less than three months it wore away to the insole of my shoe. With a retail price of $60, I just don't think it's worth it.
I would rather have a heavier shoe that lasted longer than a light one that eroded in no time. Their LIV and SKX collections are lightweight but sturdier-- but I haven't seen any nice slip-ons. There is a LIV style that's a velcro Mary Jane (called 'Happy" for one color) that may work for you if you reconsider these.
Evidently, they are not the same at all~~!!
Having purchased two wonderful pairs (blue and tan) of these shoes at the Bellevue Square Skechers store, and finding them superbly well made and abundantly comfortable, I decided to buy a black pair for an upcoming trip for Christmas in Florida.
I was delighted to notice their availability via Amazon, decided to buy online to preclude having to shop at the mall at the holidays.
What a mistake.
The Skechers shoes in their retail stores are much better made, with soft binding around the heel, a more substantial fabric, and a quite comfortable inner lining; also accurately sized.
The black Skechers ordered online have a harsh, cheaply made binding that rubs badly around the foot and heel, a rough cheap fabric, and came through at least one size smaller than their retail cousins.
These shoes are high quality and very comfortable from the Skechers retail stores, but seem to be cheaply manufactured copies online~~
Hoping my error doesn't become yours by writing this review.
