I walked 30 min am and 30 min pm daily, the first week I got these. I had no break in period. If you follow the instructions and keep your shoulders back, chest up and eyes forward, you will be in the position to create the rocking, rhythmic, motion that will work all the muscles you want worked; and help you keep your balance. One caution- making sudden changes in direction can knock you off balance. I needed to go up a half size. My lower back felt terrific due to the extra cushioning the Shape Ups provide when walking on hard concrete. Sadly, it is too icy and slippery to wear during our Winter weather. Highly recommended.

These shoes are worth every penny for me! I now own 3 pair so i can match w/scrubs i wear to work everyday. My back pain has reduced by at least 50% and my legs are becoming more defined/toned. I don't make time to exercise like i used to and these shoes help to use muscles that don't get enough attention. An added bonus is that they add inches to my petite height which has a slimming effect! Thank you Skechers for making a hip, fashion-forward product w/all these benefits too!

I purchased these shoes because I enjoy walks, but have a back issue and I am prone to shin splints. The first thing I noticed when wearing these shoes is that I walk very differently. My posture is better than ever and the strain on my back is minimal. Walking downhill does not strain my knees and I did not have a problem with shin splints. Another unexpected result was that I could really feel the workout in my upper thighs and butt! So now, walking is an even better workout. I love them and highly recommend them.

I have a bad back and previously broken feet and legs. Buying shoes is always such an ordeal for me. They NEVER live up to the hype and they always hurt when I walk more than a few minutes in them.

In these shoes, for the first time in TEN YEARS, I can run down stairs that I can't even walk down in other shoes. I can walk for miles and have no pain. It's like walking on a cloud.

I really hesitated to buy these shoes because I couldn't see paying $100 for a pair of shoes. But it's the best money I've ever spent on shoes.

I really like this shoe, the colors are great.The extra cushion is to die for. Only problem is they run alittle small. Easy to return.I normally wear a 7M But it was a little snug at the toe.
Returning the 1st pair and ordering two more 1/2 size larger. I work on concrete all day.Have for 30 years.
Was first turned on to this type of shoe by a Nurse.She was heavy set and was raving about how well this type of shoe was if your on your feet for many hours.All her back problems and Leg problem had left her.Think the brand she purchased was the MBT they are much more expensive.But I don't see any difference.Seems like the best feature for me is the extra cushion on the sole.These are so Reasonably priced.

I normally wear a size 9 and I purchased this shoe in both a size 9 and 9.5 after reading on Zappos that 75% of customers thought the shoe ran 1/2 size small. I found that it was very true to size and the 9.5 was too big. In addition to this style, I've also tried the Skechers Optimize and Skechers Metabolize. Of these three shape-up styles, I prefer this one the most. The main reason is that this shoe has mesh panels on the sides, so my feet don't feel as hot or confined in the shoes. The other thing that I like about this shoe is that the material is easy to wipe down. With the other styles (think beige nubuck leather), I was concerned about getting them dirty and having a hard time getting stains off that type of leather.

Finally, I purchased this shoe in the mocha color, which I first had reservations about. I really don't care for brown and try to wear as little of it as possible. But it is more of a bronze shade and I think the picture on Amazon makes it look more brown than it really is. The most noticeable brown is on the squishy part, and it is actually darker than portrayed in the photo and looks much better in person. These shoes are very pretty and stylish and I'm happy with this purchase.

I would recommend these shoes to anybody. They are wonderful for walking.You will feel the difference as soon as you take the first step.Don't let the price be a factor in your decision, they are worth every dime. You can't put a price on comfort.Try them, you will love them like I do.

Very comfortable, not hard to get used to at all. Legs and feet feel great when wearing them.

I chose the mocha brown they are more like a bronze metallic in color. Absolutely love them went up 1/2 size. Get more compliments on them, They are really the best looking in all the shapeups i have seen. Just got a black nubuck and white pair for christmas.

these are awesome shoes, if you are flat footed do not buy , they are great for anybody who has any type of arch as it snugs right up to the arch you have and has a super support, I work on concrete flooring ,12hr shifts and my feet never feel sore or tired at the end of the night and if you need alittle height it gives that to you as well, love them.I do weight over 200 lbs and I have 5 pairs of shape ups which I rotate I see no wear and tear on them yet.
