Disappointed after my last Skechers sandals
on April 10, 2014
My last pair of Skechers sandals was extremely comfortable, rugged, and made of real leather. I know I should have read the product information carefully, but I thought I saw my old sandals and ordered them. These are man-made and canvas uppers, which smell like your basic man-made shoes from the cheap shoe store I never visit anymore (I hope they won't smell like rotten feet after wearing them a while).
I don't know if my last pair were memory foam, they were cushiony, but I am wondering if the foam will prove to be hotter feeling during the summer months.
That said, they are comfortable enough out of the box, and half the price of the next set of sandals I thought of trying. Even the former pair did not have real buckles, but velcro, and the leather did not extend as far over the toes as I prefer. So I guess I'll give these a try.
What I really want are those tire-tread fisherman style sandals with real leather uppers, real buckles, no stretchy elastic on the adjustment bands, and a cage that covers most of the front of your foot without actually going down in front of the toes. I have often wondered if the newer ones are a little shorter just to shave costs for the manufacturer - these look like what I want (except for the velcro) but they are a hair short on the top, leaving my toes feeling a little too exposed. Guess I'll keep looking while I make do with these.
