I have to say that I'm in love with the new XF line from Skechers! I already own a pair of "regular" Skechers Shape-Ups and I really wanted something lower to wear while jogging on my treadmill. I decided to give the Accelerators a try and I am so happy that I did -- they are awesome! The kinetic wedge seems to be a different material than the kinetic wedge in my regular Shape-Ups. I don't know how to describe it other than it's more of a smooth, shiny rubber and seems to be more durable than the original kinetic wedge. I have the light blue/silver Accelerators, but I like them so much that I'm going to purchase the black version. Another thing that I really like about these shoes is the mesh paneling. My feet don't get as hot in them. I've also noticed that the insole is different from the original Shape-Ups. It's a smooth material and has more perforated holes for breathablity. I'm so pleased with these shoes that I won't go back to the original Shape-Ups. These are fantastic for athletic activity and definitely more stable. FYI -- I've found that these shoes run true to size. Enjoy!

I have a lower back issue which flares up when I do alot of walking, and bought these on the recommendation of a friend. I balked at the $100 price tag, but as we were headed to the state fair for the day I sucked it up and bought them. I'm so glad I did. I made it through the entire day without any problem and thse are now my favorite shoes for just about everything except going to work (I would wear them there to, but we're not allowed to wear sneakers.) As soon as I put them on I noticed my posture changed, I usually make a conscious effot to walk with good posture and these made me do it without having to think about it. My one complaint is they are not aesthetically pleasing. I bought the black and blue ones which seemed the least oldladyish. (I'm 27, I shouldn't hve to wear granny shoes!) Under jeans they are not as noticably weird looking as they are on the shelf at the store. I really wish sketchers would put out some work appropriate ones. If you have lower back pain, try these. Just put on a pair and walk around the shoe dept of your local store. You won't be able to leave without a pair.

I bought a pair of XF-Accelerators for mt Granddaughter for her Birthday and she just loves them.
Skechers says that the shoes take some getting used to, but she was wearing them from the minute she opened the box with not a single problem. No getting used to, no learning to walk differently, nothing.
Maybe it is because she was a figure skater for 14 years and so is used to having to balance when standing without side support and has good ankle strength from her skating. I don't know but in any case she has been wearing them for about a month now and the only complaint she has about them was that they need to have a wider selection of colors. Not that the colors they have are bad, but she likes some colors they don't currently offer in this particular model of shoe though they do offer the colors she likes in other models but those models don't have the same features she wanted that this model does have. Perhaps when they are out for a longer time Sketchers may widen the selection of colors further.

These shoes are amazing! I received them two days before leaving on a vacation to Disney-Orlando. Without a break-in period, I was skeptical I could wear them comfortably, but they surpassed my expectations. Fit as well as my well-worn Nike's and kept me going all day while on my feet and pushing a wheelchair. At the end of the day, my back, legs, and feet weren't sore and aching and they felt just as good the next morning. I wore them the entire length of my stay and can't believe the superior performance and cushioning they provide. Normally I wouldn't buy a black athletic shoe, but these were well designed with bright blue accents and come with both black and matching blue laces for different looks. I urge anyone at any age to buy a pair. The best money you'll spend!

I have just purchased the XF sneakers after trying on several of the different shape-up shoes that Skechers offers. Here is why I chose this particular model:

These sneaks have a more "sneaker-like" profile, meaning, less of a curve on the heel, which I think makes the shoe look more like a sneaker and less like some of the original shape-ups, which seemed a bit orthopedic looking for my taste. Yes, I know that seems vain and all, but I'd like to be comfortable and still wear something reasonably nice looking. I liked the choice of colors in this particular sneak. I generally gravitate towards white and these were nice as they are white with dark purple at the sole and some of the accent spots, with a little, (but not too) much light purple. They come with two sets of laces, white and light purple, so you can switch them out if you like.

Ok, now that we are done with how they look, let's get to how they feel and how the sizing goes....I ordered up an entire size on these. I tried a half size and when my foot rolled forward I felt my toe hitting the top of the shoe, so I wore medium thick socks and bought a size up and they fit well. I wear an average width shoe and for me these have plenty of width for what I need. If you are thinking, "My feet are going to look huge....", somehow they don't, so don't worry. I would, however, buy at least a half size up. I wear between an 8.5-9 and went with a 9.5 and they have a good fit. If you consistently wear one size, going up a half size would probably do.

Walking in them....I was really expecting this to be a bigger deal, since some people had told me to walk just a little while for the first week until I got used to walking in them. I wore them though for a 3.5 mile walk and then was basically on my feet all day. It is a little weird when you first put them on, as they have this rocking sensation, but you get used to it rather quickly. I likened it to wearing ice skates and walking on the rubber mat before you hit the ice, except you are a lot closer to the ground. Some say it feels like walking in sand, though I think walking in sand is alot tougher.

Was I sore the next day? No, but I do exercise daily, so I didn't expect any huge difference. The one thing I did notice was that doing yoga the next day, I seemed to be even more limber than usual when doing some of the stretches (like down-dog). It also seemed to do the same with my husband's hamstrings (we bought our shoes at the same time), so I do think it has a lengthening effect to some of the muscles.

One thing I will point out is that if you are looking for maximum calorie burn, the shoes are rated on the box, the originals have a "high burn" and these sneaks come in at a 2 out of 5, and are meant for extended fitness and wearing all day, the originals seem to have a higher sole and so if you are looking for more burn, this might not be what you want. For me though it was perfect.

Included in your box is an instruction booklet, a healthy eating booklet and a dvd. A well put together package.

Overall, a good shoe, extremely comfortable and if you buy on sale or on amazon a good value for what you get.

It's going to be a long time till I look like a Vickies Secret model, but these shapers make it fun. Took about a 5 minute adjustment period used to the feeling of walking in these but after that it was like walking like you always do. I wore them all day the first day with no issues or rubbing, I must have chose the right size on the first shot sight unseen, Score for internet shopping. The next morning I definitly had some stiffness in my calves. I wore them again most of the day and without being doctor, I feel like there is something going on in the knee area. Is it my muscles responding to the wedge construction and making my knees stabilize and balance to compensate? Again, not a doctor or specialist but I like the my body is working harder than just normal sneakers or flip flops.

One note, pay attention when going down the steps the first time, that is the only reason I lowered it to a four because it should not be a danger as long as you are aware before you buy and you pay attention. Enjoy!

I was searching for shoes that would relieve foot pain caused by plantar fasciitis. I read several reviews and finally decided on Shape Ups. I hate taking them off! My feet feel so much better when I'm wearing them than even when I'm barefoot. In other sneakers, I would be in pain within minutes of starting any walking. Now, I can walk an hour before any pain starts. Standing, like in line or while making dinner, hasn't changed though. I never want another pair of shoes.

I was so excited when I received my brand new Skechers since I hoped they'll help me boost my routine. What a nightmare!!!! This specific model is suposedly to be used for both walking and moderate workout...yeah right! On my first week trying them I hurt my knee just by doing squats at the gym. I've been a gym goer for many years and never been injured before. But now I ended up with a serious injury that has me on medical leave for 5 weeks now! To be fair I have to say that they are good fo walking, but that's it. They really should not say they are suited for workout, not even low intensity.

I have some back pain and some plantar facitis in my feet. When I wear my shape-ups, my back feels better and I have no pressure on my heels so my feet feel better. I am not a big tennis shoe fan but if they help my pain I will wear them. The mesh also serves to help your feet breathe and not sweat like the all leather ones can. These are supposed to be a lower profile version so you do not seem to feel as high in them as well an extended wear one. I usually wear them at work as I am a nurse and by the end of the day I am not in pain.

A fine shoe, if you don't walk too much. I have a dog, therefore, I walk, a lot! These shoes were supposed to help keep my feet aligned which keeps my knees aligned, they do not. The first few weeks were fair, but the shoe still allows my foot to roll inward, causing pain in my arch and my knee. I would not buy them again.
