I am a massage therapist and I work on my feet alot and my feet and lower back would ache every week. I just got my shape ups for work in black and 24 hours later I went from a skeptic to full on convinced that these shoes do everything that is advertised. I went for a walk and didn't get more than 30 yards from the house and I could feel an intense burning sensation from my ankle to my glutes and I had never felt any type of sensation from walking for 5 miles in my old shoes and I can honestly say that after a 1 1/2 mile walk, I felt like I walked 20 miles and I know that my legs and glutes will be toner because of these shoes! Since going back to work and using these shoes, I havent had lower back or knee pain and my feet stopped aching!! Get these shoes!!!

I was interested in this sort of a heel when MBT first came out, but decided to wait and see if the price would come down. I was thankful to see Skechers, a brand that I trust. Ordered two pair, white for work (I am a nurse) and the black for casual wear. They are cushioney, great for long walks and a great buy!

I saw these shoes in an add in the paper. By birthday was in August and my son's and husband bought me a pair of these shoes. They are absolutley wonderful. I use to run marathons and now have sore knees and back every morning i wake up. I've had these shoes for a week and have worn them everyday to work. My knees and back have not hurt since. I want to get another pair of the black and white fitness ones. Excellent shoe. Well worth the money.

I walk all day on cement floors as a retail employee. These shoes get me off the cement and onto a wonderful, spongy, world of comfort! They are definitely tricky - you have to work at keeping your feet even and parallel so your ankles don't roll inward or outward. I consider this minor work compared to the great comfort level of getting off the unforgiving concrete surface. I recommend these to anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet, however, be warned, you must pay attention to your feet positioning so as not to create a bad habit of poor posture.

After a short time of getting used to the Shape ups, I do not have the foot, leg or back pain that I had with my other work shoes. This pain would last hours after I had gotten off work, sometimes even into the night. Now I can get off work and have a productive evening instead of laying on the couch with my feet up! Now I realize that most of the shoes I have had in the past had no real support and were causing most of my pain. These shoes saved me from having to get special inserts made...very expensive! Thank you!!

First and foremost, I want to say that these shoes get 5 stars for COMFORT first! I work as a cake decorator in a Costco Bakery, so the non-slip working shape ups were the first priority, and they do just that-keep me from slipping! I am walking through frosting, water, batters, etc all day, and tend to hose down my shoes once or twice through the day with no problems! The water does not seep into the shoe (of course, if you spray into the laces, thats a different story). The comfortable 2+inch foam is a lifesaver for your feet, especially after standing and walking around on concrete floors for 40 hours a week. For this reason alone, they are worth the price. Also, the leather outside of the shoe protects it from normal wear and tear, food, mud, etc.... makes it very easy to wash off or clean with a washcloth. As for the "shape-up" claims, I( cannot tell for sure if they are toning, but here is what i have noticed. I stand taller, straighter, and am aware of it if i slouch or anything that sets your balance off! This is because of the curved sole of the shoe, as apposed to a flat sole. If you do not stand or walk properly, this will help you be aware of what you are doing wrong!!! Also, I tend to land heavily on my feet when i walk, so the comfortable foam makes me feel like i am walking on a tramoline, or a cloud!! I do feel taller, leaner when i wear these, but i have not experienced the muscle burn/fatigue in the beginning as others have. They send you a great DVD to teach you how to walk in these, and shipping was quick! But you only get two styles.... all black or all white. I would still like the chance to look stylish at work with a slip resistant shoe, but it does seem that ALL slip resistant shoues are either all black or all white. Overall, avoiding spider veins in my legs, sore feet, back trouble, etc, was worth the $98 I paid for these!! Please give them a try!

I have always worn the regular Sketchers work shoes. If you have to wear stupid, ugly all-black non-skid work shoes (like I do) they are the best as far as comfort and wear. (Shoes for Crews? OUCH!) A few weeks ago I upgraded to this same shoe with the shape-up sole, and LOVE it. I am a bartender in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub and am on my feet for up to 14 hours a day. These are like walking on pillows. When my feet do get sore from standing, just walking a little feels like they are getting a massage. I can feel a burn in the back of my calves, front of my thighs and lower abdomen. My posture is improved, and I don't get lower back strain from tending to slouch as the day wears on. They haven't made my legs look like a supermodel's, or my butt look like a Russian gymnast's, but without changing ANYTHING else, I have lost 3 pounds since wearing them. The $40 difference between the regular work shoes and these was 110% worth it.

I have been wearing these shoes for about 3 weeks and here's my review....

First of all, here's my background. I am a fast food restaurant manager. I work 10 hours a day on my feet. I had a severe leg/knee injury 20 years ago that I have lived with the pain everyday since..

I hesitated buying these because of the price. I kept looking up reviews and finally decided to purchase based on the fact that some said they help with knee pain.

If I had written this review on one of the first 3 days, It may not have been good. They take getting use to and hurt at first. I did not do what is recommeded, which is wear them a couple hours a day until you get use to.

From the 3rd day after, they are the most comfortable shoes ever! I truely feel I could walk all day in them. My posture is better. I noticed when I am sitting at a table, I now sit up straight. my calves are getting defined!! They look great. You can feel them working as you walk.

And the best part, KNEE PAIN GONE!! It is amazing. I have been thru PT off and on for years. Paid thousands. The $110 for these shoes was worth it, just from that aspect.

I just ordered a second pair of tennis shoes and a pair of FitFlops. I don't know that I will ever wear another pair of shoes to work!

I guess this will be the first bad review for Skechers Shape-ups. On my first wearing of the shoes, the left second eyelet came undone. It is a ribbon like affair, so the shoelaces tread through a ribbon and not a eyelet/hole. This results in the shoelaces not having the proper line up for shoe comfort and you cannot lace the shoes as intended by the manufacturer.
I was in England when the defect was discovered, so the delay in reporting the problem.
I read many reviews on the Skechers and it appeared everyone loved their shoes that is why I am doing this review. Additional my Sister was told by the Surgeon that did her knee surgery that she can never wear this shoe. I think that is a bit harsh, but check with your doctor if you have had knee or hip surgery.
At these prices I would recommend that you purchase the shoes locally for easy/free return if the same problem occurs on Skechers Shapeups.

I've owned this shoe less than a month and I can see where separation is beginning at the seam on the top of the shoe near the toes. In addition, the color (black) is scuffing off the shoe. My first pair of Sketchers Shape-Ups were also leather and black in color, but do not look as worn at the toe as the newer Sketchers for Work do. They, too, have separated where the shoe and the rubber are joined - rubber pulling apart from shoe. I also own a pair styled like a pair of tennis shoes and have taken them to the Shoe Repair store to have the separation at the toes (stitching came apart) sewn.

While the shoe is comfortable for working on a hard concrete floor, the shoe is not made to stand up to any real physical situations. My job involves a lot of walking, bending and stretching (I stock merchandise in a warehouse) and I'm sure that's a contributing factor. Still, for around $100 a pair, one would hope the color and workmanship would last more than a few weeks.
