2009 collection of cover versions from the Black Metal band featuring new and previously released recordings. Right from the start, Children Of Bodom have chosen to record cover versions for use as B-sides and bonus tracks. Perhaps surprisingly for a group situated at the more extreme end of the Metal scene, their choice of covers has been consistently diverse, ranging from '80s classics right through to Punk and contemporary Pop. This 17 track collection neatly rounds up this highly entertaining side of their recording career; whilst others are brand new recordings, included to further spice up the pot! Indeed, the lead track from the project is a recently completed version of 'War Inside My Head', a song originally recorded by Suicidal Tendencies back in 1987. The other two new tracks are 'Hell Is For Children' (first recorded by Pat Benatar) and 'Antisocial' (Trust/Anthrax).

Don't take this album too seriously. The laughing at the end of "Oops I did it again" should be a clue that Children of Bodom are just having some fun here. Once you have accepted that it's actually a pretty decent collection of covers. Unfortunately it seems many metal fans are completely incapable of laughing at themselves (the dark lord does not approve of giggles?) so this album is bound to be slammed on any of the "hardcore" metal sites. Ignore the haters and enjoy the album for what it is.

Why in hell would anyone think that just because COB releases an album of covers, that they are going to never make a "Serious" album again. Give the guys a break. I actually think it's kind of refreshing to hear something like this. My favorite cut on the disc has to be "Lookin' Out My Back Door"... The banjo blew me away. Would have been nice to maybe have a few more well known songs. I've never been a big King Diamond fan, but I like the way the covers were done. Way to go COB!

It seems that most people listening to metal are incapable of seeing that metal doesn't always have to be so serious. Good album, although I would just download it instead of buying it, because yes, it is just covers.
