For the metal fan who still enjoys his or her music fast and loud with stratosphere vocals similar to Bruce Dickinson then vocalist John Cyriis of Agent Steel might meet your approval. The group was formed in Los Angeles in 1984 releasing two albums under the original membership but became lost in the myriad of hair bands of the 1980's. The group muddled along disbanding in 1988 to reform in late 1999. Unfortunately they didn't seem to have much of a chance for breaking out into the metal mainstream. This gem I discovered quite by random on a Pandora station. It was sufficiently unique with Cyriis' vocals that I went on a hunt for this album, finding it through a seller on Amazon.
With the resurgence of interest in metal in the 2000's, someone in the record business had sufficient wisdom and vision to re-release this album on vinyl (personally its the only way to go - for those purists among us). This record is recorded on 180-gram colored vinyl and is as clean as a whistle.
Artistically, Agent Steel reminds me of Testament. The guitar is fast, the vocals piercing. The album ends with a live track: "The Unexpected".
