4.0 out of 5 stars Alternative tree killer, June 12, 2004

If you're look for an alternative to Sawzall specialty blade 48-00-1301, this blade rocks! I attached to my Supersawzall and cut down a three story pine tree in half a day! The thicker part of the trunk was the only time I felt that a chainsaw would have been better because this blaze is only 9". I wish they made a longer version of this bad boy.

5.0 out of 5 stars All business., May 4, 2009
This review is from: Skil Accessories 94100 9-Inch "Ugly" High Carbon Steel Wood Reciprocating Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
When used on any sort of green wood these blades are the best bar none. I'm still on the one I bought a year ago and its still sharp enough to tear through green wood like no tomorrow. I wouldn't personally use mine for roots in dirt like the previous reviewer because they aren't made to deal with dirt. The Dewalts he used, or just about any other blade for that matter, are better suited to deal with the inevitable stones and rocks involved with cutting roots in dirt. Its all about using a tool within its limits and to knock a tool for under performing outside what it is spec'ed for is, in my opinion, unfair. For wood and wood only, and especially green wood, I look to no other blade because there is no better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good at begining but not long lasting, January 12, 2009
This review is from: Skil Accessories 94100 9-Inch "Ugly" High Carbon Steel Wood Reciprocating Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
I grab this for cutting big tree roots. At beginning it works fine, but after 3 6-inch cut the blade is not sharp anymore. I fill the blade and it can only last for half of a 4 inch cut. It may due to the roots are not dry or the blade touches some of the dirt. So I grabbed a DeWalt 12" blade and be extremely careful about touching the dirt. And I can finish the rest of the 6 6-inch roots and the blade is still sharp. I paid $4.97 for the Ugly and paid $3.50 for the DeWalt. So I think the DeWalt worth the money. I also don't feel the Ugly goes noticeable faster than the DeWalt.
