I bought this to replace the charger for my 14.4 volt cordless drill, product no. 92590. As advertised, it does charge my 14.4 volt batteries and also charges other voltages of Skil batteries. Works perfectly and was delivered promptly.

bought charger and battery at the same time. Used the battery for about a total of 5 hours. Left the battery on the charger for a week. When I grabbed the battery, it was very hot, and worked for only 5 minutes. After a 2 hour charge, it only worked for about 2 minutes. Now it doesn't charge at all. Seems like this charger does not shut down when the battery is charged. Now I have 2 dead batteries and 2 chargers (this one and the original)that are battery killers.

Works "as-advertised". So far it has not shorted out like the one it replaced did.

The charger works great. It is a big improvement over the one that came with the drill. It charges the battery quickly and no more overnight charges for a dead battery.

Not much to say other than, skil has finally made a heavy duty charger that is fairly inexpensive. The previous chargers I have used have been junk. But this actually charges within 3 hrs and it as heavy as my dewalt charger.

the newer version charger and it works way

My Original Charger that Came with my Skill 14.3V Drill, Just Stopped working (The Charger Lite would not Come on Neither Charge the Battery)when Plugged in. Even though I had only use this about 12 times /Charges for the Year.
The original Charger Had a Clip on Cap and a DC adapter at the end that plugs into the Wall Outlet.
My original Charger DC Adapter was a Sealed Unit , So there was No way you can open it (no Fuse nothing)

I bought this replacement charger and So Far it WORKS well. it charged my Dead Battery in 3 hrs.
I like the Feature where You Invert the Battery upside down into this NEW Charger, so the Weight Of the Battery Keeps it Locked on /secured to the Charger.
You should keep in mind However to never leave the Battery on the Charger over the Stipulated charging time (For me it was 3 hrs)

I've had a Skil 14.4v drill for years and I've gone through 2 batteries, since the original charger apparently was known to kill them. Once the second battery died, I bought this charger and a new battery (144BAT) and everything seems fine.

This one can charge most Skil batteries of various voltages and is supposed to come with some protection circuitry.

My only complaint with it is that it does not fit in the carry case with the drill like the old one did due to added bulk.

This charger succeeds at outliving the batteries. If you have the misfortune of trying to charge a bad battery that will no longer take a charge this charger will not be destroyed like the original charger that came with the drill/driver. However the drill driver itself falls short of much of its competition. The batteries never last through my project no matter how small.

Thanks for the fast action that you took in sending my charger! It seems to be working just fine, and thanks to you, I can complete my project.
