5.0 out of 5 stars Dealing with a disruptive child? Read this book!
Skills Training for Children with Behavior Disorders is wonderful! It contains very clear and concise information and suggestions for any parent (or teacher) who is dealing with a disruptive child. The workbook sheds light on other areas that could be causing the child to act out (such as family behavior and outside support). The worksheets included are helpful in...

1.0 out of 5 stars Too basic for practioners or holders of advanced degrees. Good for parents or teachers.
I have an advanced degree and work as a school psychologist and found this book to be way too elementary. It would be a good resource for parents or a beginnng teacher. I gave the book an overall low rating becasue it advertises iteself as a resource for therapists/practioners. If you don't know this stuff, you should not be working with kids as a therapist!

This review is from: Skills Training for Children with Behavior Disorders: A Parent and Therapist Guidebook (Paperback)
Skills Training for Children with Behavior Disorders is wonderful! It contains very clear and concise information and suggestions for any parent (or teacher) who is dealing with a disruptive child. The workbook sheds light on other areas that could be causing the child to act out (such as family behavior and outside support). The worksheets included are helpful in breaking the behaviors down one by work without overwhelming the child all at once, allowing the child to see their progress one step at a time. A wonderful resource for both parent and teacher as they work together to resolve negative behavior and get the child back on track.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have translated this book into Chinese., June 21, 2000
This review is from: Skills Training for Children with Behavior Disorders: A Parent and Therapist Guidebook (Paperback)
I am a child psychiatrist in Taiwan, and I bought this book in 1997 when I participated in the Americam Psychiatric Association Annual Conference. I found this book very practical and helpful to both myself and my clients' parents,so I decided to translate it into Chinese, and finally the Chinese edition had been published on March 1999.I used this book to discuss with clients' parents about how to handle behavior-disordered clients' disruptive behaviors.Parents very much appreciated this book about its convenience, practical procedure, and detailed explanation of "know how". This is the most practical book I have found in Taiwan for working with parents with behavior-disordered children.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to discipline noncompliant behaviors of your child, July 14, 2000

This review is from: Skills Training for Children with Behavior Disorders: A Parent and Therapist Guidebook (Paperback)
This book presents many executable methods to manage noncompliant and disruptive children for parents and professionals. In my case as a navice professional, I was debt too much in author. In korea, I worked through some skills of this book, and then administered to mothers who have offsprings with disruptive disorders in hospital settings. In three months- long group program (once a week) our participant (mothers) coudl report general satisfaction with child rearing and lowered their children's problem behavior level. I'm very appreciated author again!
