Who knew,
By 1. I use SSS after working on the car, before using soap, to cut the worst grease - even under the finger nails. Then use the soap and you're clean in minutes. This also works on paint brushes. 2. I also use SSS for cleaning brass and silver, along with a product like Bar Keepers Friend (BKF). Together, the SSS dissolves oils and holds the BKF in contact with the surface. This combo is non-abrasive and not caustic, and it works.

Wonderful Against Skeeters!,
By
This review is from: Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil (Misc.)
This stuff is the best bug repellant I've ever found. Just rub it on your arms, legs, whatever, and the skeeters don't bite. (Normally, skeeters LOVE me. I guess I'm too sweet :-). Obviously, it is an oil based product, so try not to get it on your best dress. Just use it with your tee shirts and jeans or shorts. Helps with other biting things too, like those nasty summer green-headed flies on the East Coast. We also have a small black skeeter that bites right through your @!#$%^ clothes. This stuff keeps him off too!
I'm sure it's great for taking a bath with, too, but everybody I know takes showers and uses this product for skeeters. This is a mineral oil product with other ingredients. I'd rather use this than one of those more chemical products. At least you are using a product that is supposed to soften your skin in the process. If your child goes camping with the scouts, you might want to send him/her packing with a bottle of this. Best to keep the bottle in plastic bag and upright. Sometimes it leaks when turned upside down.

I recently moved from the desert, where mosquito/bug bites are few and far between, to North Carolina where I am being eaten alive! I used to use this when I was a kid, and after being reminded of it when my dad slapped some on before going outside to watch some 4th of July fireworks, I ordered some in order to seek relief from the dozens of bug bites I had acquired in less than a week of being in NC. Haven't had a new bug bite since, and my skin is indeed so soft. Will absolutely be repurchasing over and over!

Definite Mosquito Repellent, but Fly Repellent too?,

This definitely repels mosquitoes (I've been using it for years to keep bugs away), now I heard from a friend of mine that she uses it on her dogs to keep the flies away... perfect.

Great Insect Repellant for Dogs,

I'm sure this is a fine product for humans, given Avon's great history and reputation.
But we use it for our dogs. We add a capful to rinse water when we're bathing them. It makes them smell nicer, and it keeps bugs away from them for about 2 weeks.

Very Oily,
I've used Avon products off and on for years and I have to admit I have tried Skin So Soft on more than one occasion. I tried using less and less in each bath but the truth is that it is too oily for my skin. I love the smell of it but even when using a tiny amount in a full bath I feel like I just bathed in an oil slick. It also clogged my pores and I ended up with pimples on my back and thighs. So it's just not for me, a person who has normal skin. However, to be fair, my mother used to use it and she loved it but she had extremely dry skin. My recommendation is if you have very, very dry skin this can be a plus. Otherwise keep in mind the oily factor. If you're not sure of how your skin will react, try using baby oil in your bath first. It's a great softening agent in the same way as this product.
