I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.

"The Skin You're In: Discovering True Beauty" by Nancy Rue is a wonderful book for tween and teen gals! It is packed with quizzes that lead to deep insight into self. Some of these would be fun to take with your friends during a spa night (chapter two) or sleepover! There are fun and creative ideas and terrific recipes for homemade treatments. There is good advice on products to use to improve hair, skin, feet, etc. And there is a bunch of information to help you decide on your overall style.

This is a terrific book to use with your daughter or let her use on her own. It's also filled with spiritual insight that points young women to God through scripture and toward a healthy self-image. There is definitely a great need for that at this time. This is a well-written guide that encourages a daughter to interact with her mother and starts young women on a good path of caring for themselves.

This book came at the right time! I have an eleven year old daughter. The author of this book intertwines the true stories of Bible characters with the responsibilities and challenges that come with being a preteen or teen.

I read this on my own, and will be handing it to my daughter this week. I wouldn't mind reading it with her and discussing it, but I'll leave it up to her if she wants to read together or solo.

The book covers skin care, the true value of hair color and other's opinions, and so many other concerns a young girl has at this stage in her life. (You could use some of the information for your teen son, too.) The book is definitely packed with great resources. I recommend this one!

I think my favorite part is the section on being mature! Some kiddos want to be treated like grown-ups. Yet, they don't want to be responsible. The author encourages the reader to "be mature in ways that are right" for one's own age and gives examples. I love it! I hope my daughter takes the hint!

The NIV Bible translation is mostly used in this book.
