5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book for Quilts to decorate your home
This book is jam packed with wonderful quilts to grace your walls or tables. They are all from various accomplished quilt designers. Eleanor did a fabulous job compiling the book and having each individual quilt designer submit some fabulous eye candy. Clear concise instructions will make piecing together any of these quilts a breeze. A must have for any quilter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Time consuming projects
Of the 15 quilts or table runners in this book, there are only five I would consider making. While the others are beautiful, these 10 are considerably more complicated and time consuming.

Each pattern in this book is by a different author. Ms. Levie is the editor of the whole book. Each pattern has a beautiful color photo of the finished item and a blurb...

I particularly liked the design and discussion by a graphic designer. She brings a special discipline to organization and color selection that is unique and inspirational.

3.0 out of 5 stars Time consuming projects, November 4, 2010
This review is from: Skinny Quilts and Table Runners II: 15 Designs from Celebrated Quilters (That Patchwork Place) (Paperback)
Of the 15 quilts or table runners in this book, there are only five I would consider making. While the others are beautiful, these 10 are considerably more complicated and time consuming.

Each pattern in this book is by a different author. Ms. Levie is the editor of the whole book. Each pattern has a beautiful color photo of the finished item and a blurb about it. Finished size, material and cutting lists and assembly instructions are clearly written. Graphics abound. Tips can be found in colored boxes throughout. Any templates needed are included at full size.

The final pages contain a short bio on each author. It is always fun to learn about who created the quilted item. If you are looking for a more complicated/time consuming project, this book will give you lots of ideas.

I have both of the Skinny Runner books, and so far I've made one wall hanging (By The Sea) from the first book. The instructions are concise and the photos are very helpful as well as beautiful to look at. Some quilters in my stitching group have made runners from these books as well, with excellent results. I really like that the runners are created by different designers. The patterns in the book don't all have the same "flavor" like a one-designer book would have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous Table Runners!, August 24, 2010
This review is from: Skinny Quilts and Table Runners II: 15 Designs from Celebrated Quilters (That Patchwork Place) (Paperback)
I love this book! With designs from traditional to very contemporary, there are projects for everyone. Just like her first book, Eleanor has 15 projects from a wide variety of famous quilt designers, and as I turn the page I see a quilt that would either look great in my house, or a gift for someone I know. I've been wanting to take a class with Sue Benner, and here I find one of her designs to make and learn from. I also love Melinda Bula's designs, and of course, there is a beautiful wisteria design of her's to make! Recently, I've been bitten by the wool bug, and lo and behold, I find a Sue Spargo design. Last year I started weaving, and yep, there's even a woven table runner in here, designed by Eleanor! There are also many quick projects, including designs by Karla Alexander, Judy Hooworth, and Jane Davila, who's quit also has unusual metal accents.

This book is filled with patterns for 15 table runners, all beautiful and unique. The designs range from traditional to artsy and everything in between. Use the patterns for table runners or create modern art for your walls. I used one pattern to make a gorgeous pillow!
