Let me start off by saying that the ONLY reason I am writing this review is because I was contacted by Skinomi customer support one random day, and they offered to send me a free screen protector if I wrote a review for this product (Skinomi TechSkin for Galaxy S3) on Amazon. I was not expecting such a call, was taken back a little, and sarcastically said that I would write a review when I can find time. Then the lady said that she would be sending a free screen protector out. After a few weeks, I did receive a *free* screen protector, but I have been lazy and have not installed it yet and have just got some spare time to write this review. In the meanwhile, I missed another call from Skinomi Customer Support that requested a review on Amazon (listened to the Voicemail). I pretty much feel obligated to write this now.

This is a good screen protector. The cutouts aligned perfectly. I ordered an ArmorSuit before this one, and it was too thick, made the touch-response a little laggy (for me, at least) and the "self-healing" that they promised after the initial install was not upto my standards. There were visible and tangible bumps and indentations left on the screen after the installation that did not come out even after a couple weeks. Anyone who used the phone could definitely feel and consequently asked if I had a screen protector on the thing. I didn't like that. Searched on Amazon a little, and found this Skinomi protector that was a little cheaper than the ArmorSuit, and someone mentioned that "unlike the other brand, this one is much thinner and much more responsive". That was enough for me to give this product a chance.

The product has mostly lived upto its promise, and has protected my screen from all the things in my pocket that can scratch the big screen of the GS3. The "wounds" on the screen heal, to a certain extent. This is definitely thinner and more responsive than the 'other brand'. My only gripe is that the initial bumps/marks on the screen that occurred during installation with the provided squeegee never healed completely. Neither did the bumps that happened after daily use, but they definitely healed better than the ArmorSuit. Maybe I am installing it the wrong way. Maybe its just a personal preference. But, it is annoying at times. I would give this product 4.2 stars if I could, because it performs decently as a screen protector, but does sacrifice some of the smoothness of a naked screen.

I used a cheap Halo protector on my previous device and always managed to get the installation perfect and in my opinion, the feel of the screen was much more real in that type of protector. I will take the time this weekend to install the *free* screen protector that Skinomi sent me, and hope that I get the install right this time. I am a foul bachelor frog, so theoretically I should be adept at such mundane tasks. Only time will tell how well my next install goes.

I appreciate Skinomi sending an extra one to me for free, especially considering the price has halved since I originally purchased this item, so I can feel a little success kid-ish inside. But, let it be known that Skinomi is contacting customers to write reviews and offering products in exchange. That 'might' just make the review statistic lean towards their liking.

Now back to weebl's stuff. You know, narwhals, bacon and all..

This screen protector is very easy to apply, with a great video tutorial online, it works as advertised but I do have a few gripes I would like to make known. The first is that like several other reviewers have stated, the cutouts on mine were slightly off. Now, the protector went on fine and I got the cutouts all centered on the top and worked down to the home button, with the top cutouts centered the one for the home button was at a slight angle (doesn't interfere with button use) and this caused the right edge of the screen protector to sit just a smidge further over the side than the left, which is now causing the protector to lift off of the right side. The one other issue I have is that it doesn't play well with cases. I allowed mine to dry for a full two days before putting my TPU case on, and imidiatly the corners peeled up -_- I reapplied, let it dry for two more days, and tried with another snap on case. This time I had no issues until I took the case off, and the protector came right off with it. It seems that because of the more pliable nature of the protector, it compresses and sticks to the inner edge of the case, and seals to it. This isn't a big deal if you use a flimsy silicone case, but for anything more heavy duty, it just won't play nicely. Now in conclusion, this is a great protector, It hasnt scratched or stretched, but the constant case issues combined with the slightly inaccurated home button cutout are causing frequent lifts off of the screen.

This was the first time I purchased a wet-install screen protector for a phone. Following the instructions on the box, it was a pretty straight forward install and much easier than I expected. The screen protector went on very nice and there were no bubbles the next day. On one edge, it looks like it is lifted a bit so I may try to moisten it and "stick" it down if it gets worse later on. The dry-install screen protectors that I usually buy almost always have more "non-stick" areas than this. I would buy this product again.
