I just got my Nexus One and wanted to protect it.

I really like the idea for this particular model though the design is flawed.

Many of the pieces end at sharp points which started to peel back immediately during normal use. You can re-wet upto a point and stick it down but once its up, its up.

I have a pretty good fit and the spray helps to get everything stuck nicely but the screen cover has something on it that i cant get rid of. Like very tiny specs under the surface. Also in my experience the screen cover affected the sensitivity of the screen.

I like it but it wont last and for 15 bucks i expected a better design. the back went on nice, I really want to like it but its just going to peel off.

UPDATE: I have removed, wet and re attached the screen protector several times now and reduced the blemishes considerably, some did dissipate as they dried.

I ended up trimming the pointed edges to reduce the chance of curling and that seems to have helped to. Still a flawed design and not easy to apply. two stars.**

THE LIFETIME WARRANTY IS A TOTAL SCAM

I wanted an amazing protective coating for my nexus one. It's an expensive toy, it's best to protect your investments. So I went w/ this skinomi cover to coat the whole phone.
Putting it on was frustrating. I got to the point when the film wouldn't even stick on the surface, it would just slide over the surface w/o holding. I even lost a piece as they are easy to misplace.

I didn't use all the pieces but decided to leave most of them on to see how it is. It feels cheap to the touch. The edges came up after less than a week and it looked very unbecoming. Also, there still seems to be some grime under the screen. As well as bending of light such like light bends around droplets of water. It seems like droplets are trapped b/w the screen and the film. Overall I regret this purchase. They had a good idea, but the corners did not feel very good. And the screen could look better. I realize I am not a professional and it could have been installed better but I'm pretty meticulous and took my time w/ it. I just ordered the seido innocase II. I'll protect the phone that way. And the screen cover I'll leave for the time being. It does protect the screen after all. Maybe I'll replace it when I'm willing to spend money on a new one but for now it works.

My experience with this product has been very positive and I would advise some of the other reviwers to watch some of the installation available online before proceeding to apply it themselves. I gleaned some useful tips that helped make the process relatively painless.

The application is a little time consuming and requires patience. It is also important to be very liberal with the fluid that comes in the package. If you find yourself having to reapply the screen, douse it in the fluid again before trying to stick it back on.

On the negative side, the screens are not cut precisely for the Nexus One, but they're close enough for the imperfections to not be very noticeable. Also, the side panel is harder to apply.

I got this product for 2 reasons:

1) because it was available on or around the launch of the Nexus one.

2) because it looked similar to the invisibleSHIELD, from Zagg which I've have had great luck with.

Let me just say this, despite the similarities in packaging and design, this product is no invisibleSHIELD, most noteable is that there is visible glue and such behind the screen protector --Yuck.

I didn't spend nearly 600 bucks on an unlocked phone to have the 19 dollar screen protector make it ugly. I'll keep this on the screen to protect it just long enough for the fella's at Zagg to come up with their own version.

PROS:
2 stars because it's probably better than some of the other junk out there

CONS:
not as durable feeling as the invisibleSHIELD, leaves visible gunk between the screen and the protector.

I have found this skin to be very good. After first installing it looked like crap with all the micro bubbles but they quickly went away after it dried over the course of a couple of days. I did have a large bubble under the screen protector that kind of got trapped and I couldn't get it squeezed out.. I used a tiny pin to pop the bubble and squeezed out the water that way. Lucky thing is it's near the bottom left corner of the screen so you don't really know it's there unless you really look hard and know what your looking for... That wasn't the skin's fault and more my installation skills and my stupidity of installing the screen protector first. After the screen protector I applied the back pieces and knowing what I knew about the screen install the rear install went great with no problems at all. I actually like the rubbery feel of the skin even on the screen. after a month since my install I have not had any issues with those pointed corners peeling up at all and it's regularly in and out of my jean pockets at least 20 times a day. The side pieces and the piece around the ear piece were a little bit of a pain to get on as being so small they slid around a little while trying to get them in just the perfect place. After a month on it looks great and I can't see any visible marks on the skin at all and again it goes in and out of a pair of jean pockets 20 times a day and then I set it in the cup holder in my car when I am driving.. Ordering from these guys was great.. 3 days from order to arrival at my house and the product does as advertised... I think some issues are probably with installation.. you really need to take your SWEET - SWEET - SWEET time doing this install. personally it took about an hour to install it but that was after I got that bubble on the front side and then I totally slowed the install down to a crawl on the back and sides...

Great protection although I found it real difficult to install.
Also, the acute angle on the protection doesn't stick real well. I found that I had to cut those after a while.
So it's maybe just me, as it was the first time I was installing such a protection.
Anyway really does the work and is virtually invisible.

This was my first time buying Skinomi - I got it for my Nexus One. I looked up a couple of reviews online - they all recommend going slowly and taking your time applying the skin. I did and it worked as was expected. As promised, most of micro-bubbles disappeared within 48 hours. 4 days later I can hardly tell it's there - no glare, no fingerprints, no dust. IMHO, quality-wise it's an excellent product.

Using the tool provided in the packaging, the screen protector scratched during installation! The tool provided is a bit of plastic, like a small credit card, used to smooth out (i.e. remove air bubbles) the screen protector during installation. The edges of it were poorly finished and sharp, causing the scratch.

Seeing that it had a lifetime replacement warranty, I thought I would just send it back for replacement. After visiting this page on their website ([...]), I saw the following:

"Fill out the product registration form as soon as you obtain your item."

The words "product registration form" are a hyperlink, leading you to believe they will take you to the form. They are merely linked back to the homepage of the site. Performing a search for the term "registration" on the site's search engine produces no matching results. The same page also provides the following information:

"Your replacement TechSkin is free of charge. A reshipping and handling charge of $3.95 ($5.95 for larger TechSkins) per replacement TechSkin will apply for all replacements in the USA and Canada."

So replacement is not really free of charge? And how large is "larger"?

The skin for the Nexus one actually comes in seven different pieces. Some of the pieces are very skinny (i.e. less than 1/4" wide) and difficult to install. Do you have very small fingers or were you born an elf? If not, good luck.

I was somewhat disappointed that after I ordered this that it got negative reviews.

* edit - I have had this on my phone for about 3 months, most of the corners have peeled up and have rendered the most sensitive areas exposed. The screen protector itself has become scratched and aesthetically displeasing.

The smallest bits of the Nexus One skinomi will stick better if applied without the solution and a steady hand (or tweezers). The tiny hole for the rear microphone could be enlarged a bit.

I don't want to comment the item, for I did not use it even though I bought it. I'm returning it without opening the shipping package for the slow shipping, slow email reply. I just feel ignored. I got it in 10 days after I placed my order...... maybe it's accidental, but it's really bad to me...
