It's difficult for me to believe anyone could give this a negative review. I have used MathUSee with my children since they were 6 years old. By the time we progressed to multiplication, my oldest daughter had mastered the previous disciplines and memorized this cd. She didn't need me for daily instruction during that entire year. Her basic skills are extremely strong. Math U See is absolutely incredible (Steve Demi is my math hero:). To have such cohesion, based on mastery of each skill is worth all the money in the world to us (the primary reason we homeschool - cohesive math instruction from kindergarten to calculus).

If you find the CD "boring" and translate that to your children or classroom, they will of course pick up on it. I supposed if you waited to introduce it to a 9 year old who has been watching too much Disney channel it could be a bit "boring" for them also. However, when used the way it was intended with the Math U See curriculum, your children will have solid basic math skills to build on for the rest of their math career.

I previously purchased a Math-U-See instructional video that is great for guiding the teacher on visual instruction of math, so I purchased a skipcount songbook and CD. The wording is fine, but it is not fun or exciting at all for the children to listen. My summer school students begged me to turn it off!! We decided to make up our own skip count songs.

You need to review the reference book to understand the lyrics (I can count it is the song part). After listening with the book in hand, we are now understanding the lyrics. You can just pop it in your car and have them listen.

This Skip Count & Addition Facts Songbook & CD combo is a fun way to review your child's math facts. I personally don't use the CD until after we've completed the lesson for that week. Then, I put it on and we have a few minutes of fun review. This isn't a super-polished, flashy CD, but it does the trick. All the math facts are sung to common children's songs or Sunday School type songs. My budding readers like to try to keep up in the songbook as the CD plays. Overall, an enjoyable addition to the regular lesson schedule!

Great CD and song book to accompany the Math-U-See curriculum. My children, currently ages 5 and 2 1/2, love to have a songbook and accompanying music, so this is right down their alley.
