Don't Know What I Did Without This Before!,
By Lucie (nj) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Skip Hop Day To Night Baby Log (Baby Product)
I didn't really use anything like this with my first child, but thought I'd try it out with the second. Boy, am I glad I did!! The Skip Hop Logbook helps me to stay super organized (and keep my head on straight)! I love the little night light in the middle, so I can fill in info anytime without waking baby. I'm also using it to help me keep things like doctors appointments and upcoming Grandma visits organized. I wish that I had a book like this for every aspect of my life!!!
Love it, must have!

Great concept but...,

Size, cover material, and three ring binder format are impractical. Cover is cloth and easily dirtied. Too thick to carry along. The three ring binder is annoying to flip through because pages snag. It would have been great if the hours of the day were preprinted. I gave three stars because of the nightlight/calendar/clock/timer--it's the best part. I should have stuck to "Baby Tracker" which I used with my first baby.

I ordered this because of the light in the middle. When I received it I felt it was overpriced and not worth the money so I returned it.

Great, but having issues with timer,
This review is from: Skip Hop Day To Night Baby Log (Baby Product)
Overall, this has been great! I agree with other reviews that it's big...too big to take out & about. But I just jot feedings on scrap paper or write a memo in my phone.
The timer/clock has been a little annoying, though. The timer doesn't always start when I push the button...which was frustrating when I looked to see how long it had been only to see "00:00"! That's happened many times so now I'm more diligent about making sure it started. Also, I've noticed the time or date changing without me adjusting it (??). I've been using it for about a month now. Despite that, I'd still recommend this to friends. And I have. The timer/clock issue can easily be remedied by looking at a clock or using the stopwatch on my phone...that I keep nearby anyway in case anyone calls or texts me. And my lactation consultant had never seen it before; she was really impressed by it & thinks it's great :) Much easier than a pen & plain notebook.

This Day to Night Baby Log is an excellent, practical, log for any parent ...,
This review is from: Skip Hop Day To Night Baby Log (Baby Product)
I bought this Day to Night Baby Log for a baby shower gift. This is not a baby book in which you'll be placing pictures, recording the first tooth, and putting a locket of hair within its pages. This is a very practical gift, one that any new mother is sure to appreciate. When I recorded baby information, I was using simple sheets of notepaper that I'd record information on. The Day to Night Baby Log will come in very handy, especially if you are dealing with a sick baby. The binder opens up and you can take the necessary pages to your pediatrician.
Along with this log, which is 8 1/2" x 9 1/4," comes a "Time Capsule" that you can set that will digitally display the time, day, and has a timer. This takes two AAA batteries and has a battery life indicator that takes the guesswork out of replacement. This capsule can be secured in the ring bound notebook and can be seen with each turn of the page. New mothers don't have time for much of anything, save their babies. The first page has a section to record baby gifts and that all important column where you can check off when you send a thank you card. The next page records doctor visits and has columns for the date, weight, length, and "other." The bulk of the pages are in a simple columnar fashion indicating the time, feeding (nursing - right/left, bottle amount), changing (diaper - pee/poo), and sleeping (asleep/awake). On the top of the page one can circle the day and add the date. On the bottom is a some section for notes. The fabric cover will probably see more than a few stains by the time this book is put aside, but that's what memories are made of. This is a useful log that will not only be fun for the parent to fill out, but useful to the pediatrician, and great fun for the grandparent to take a peek at.

We used this for the first 4 months. It was great to keep track of her eating, drinking, and diapers in the early days when it's hard to know if its morning or night! When the ped asked us how many wet diapers she had, we just opened the book. We never used the light in the book, and the price is a little steep for what it is. But, we were very happy with the format of the record keeping section.

This journal log is sooo cute and convenient, I got it on time and used it for my twin boys first three months it gives you 6 months worth of log however I was able to use it for 3, which was actually enough) has a little night light too! Simple and cute

This is the best thing! With my first baby, I wrote everything out and went through several notebooks/notepads. With this, I don't have to write everything out...just put in the times and check things off. Its great. The nightlight capsule with the date and time is fantastic. I also like the fact that its a ring binder so the pages lie flat when you're writing. It is big and bulky...but we just take one page out each day, put it on a tiny clipboard and stick it in the diaper bag for the sitter. I need refills now...but they are out of stock. EKKK!
