does the job,

It covers the spout, so when my kids stand up, they won't hit the metal spout. This covers the spout very well, and it can be tightened by pulling on the flipper on either side. Probably won't work with a spout without a shower pull because the whale will just slide off. Easy to wash, not very many crevices for mold to grow.

Slides Off of Faucet,

We bought this to replace a duck spout cover that we noticed had mold on it. Our bath spout does not have a shower diverter on it so the whale slides right off no matter how tight we make it. As you can imagine this renders the product useless. Something like this should have been mentioned in the description.

This is great. I can leave it on rather than take it off like some to pull for the shower. Our spout is one of the longest & there is still about 1/2 inch at the end that is not covered, but none on the market would. Daughter loves it & she can't pull it off :)

Our spout in the bathtub does not have the shower knob on it so this cover is useless. Not sure if that was mentioned somewhere and I missed it before I bought it. It slides right off and with that is useless for us. I am sorry to say but I wasted my money on this one.

Covers our old scary faucet perfectly!,

I was worried this wouldn't fit since our faucet is 40 years old, and the shower diverter is in the back of the faucet instead of the front. However, it fits perfectly! The tail flips over the diverter and works great. It hangs low enough over the front of the faucet to protect her little head if she raises up under it. I can understand why people say that it would not stay on a faucet that has no diverter. It does slide forward, and is held on mostly by the diverter, and only slightly by tightening the fins. It is super easy to wipe clean and is made really well. I'm sure this will be the last faucet cover we will have to buy, and we will probably be able to pass it down. Plus, it doesn't have any goofy pictures or characters on it. Even the packaging was stylish. It's just simple and cute.

Be Aware! Moby is only great if your tub spout has a shower diverter!,

This design is flawless in every way except it cannot serve it's purpose unless your spout has a shower diverter to keep it on. The shower diverter sticks up through the blow hole and slides back to secure Moby onto your spout.
Since neither of our spouts have shower diverters, we found there is nothing on Moby which will keep my daughter from pulling him right off the spout, rendering him useless as a spout protector! I purchased some suction cups in hopes of finding a way to secure him to the tile, but I still haven't found a way. I think this company should advertise that a shower diverter is required for Moby to stay on, or else devise an adapter for spouts which do not have one. Because we were not forewarned, and were lured into buying this otherwise a fabulous Whale!

We have sort of an odd tub spout. You pull on a ring at the bottom to divert to the shower head. The skip hop moby spot cover fits great and our 16 month old daughter loves it. She has bumped her head up against it a few times without so much as a whimper. She waves bye bye to the whale at the end of every bath.

My wife bought this whale after our son was born - granted, he isn't to the point yet where I'm worried about him hitting his head on the faucet, but we've been using it for months anyway. My son loves to look at it in the bath, and when we move him close, he likes to touch it. However, it's clearly padded enough that I'm not worried about him bumping his head.
It looks tasteful - it's not too gaudy or flashy, and fits in with our bathroom decor. I've seen some faucet protectors that have lips below the spout and cascade the water down - this one doesn't do that. It affixes to the faucet easily, and comes off easily for cleaning. I've not seen a speck of mold or mildew on it. The little pin to turn on our shower fits just right where the whale's blowhole would be - it does stick sometimes when I turn the shower off, but it's not much of a bother. Lastly - this thing is REALLY cute!

PVC-free -- thank you Skip Hop!!,

Many thanks to Skip Hop -- who both provided my family with a PVC-free bath item AND prompted my toddler to say "whale" for the first time. If you have not heard about PVC in toys or children items for kitchen or bath, please google ASAP!!! And definitely get a PVC-free tub spout!

This appears to be a good item to buy for the bath tub. It was very hard to keep in place on the faucet and it got to be so moldy that we had to throw it out pretty fast. Definately not something I would suggest purchasing.
