Today,I received the soundtrack for "My Dog Skip" in the mail.NEVER in MY LIFE have I listened to such an emotion stirring CD.It paints every image from the movie in my mind.It will bring tears to a person's eyes just listening to the soundtrack.If you have seen the movie at least once.Thank you,Amazon.com,for selling such a beautiful work of art.This CD rules!

I don't often pay particular notice to a movie's score. However, this beautiful film and this luscious score together take you on an emotional venture that grabs your heart and won't turn you lose. There were times when my heart was taken so high it was like riding ocean swells, and then gently lowering it down like a peaceful low tide. If you have seen the film, you have experienced it. If not, then you really should see it on the big screen with good sound while you can. This little masterpiece of a film will probably be ignored by the oscars, but they cannot ignore this indescribable score. I found myself mesmerized not only by the film, but equally by the score, finding myself listening to a guitar here, a flute there, then a clarinet somewhere -- and then the instruments were swept into an orchestral bouquet. A feast for the ears, the eyes, and the heart.

Rarely does a soundtrack succeed in evoking memories of its movie counterpart as well as "My Dog Skip." The movie itself is Oscar worthy and the soundtrack will surely seal its fate as one of the best movies of its kind to come around in a very long time.

There are very few films that I find worthy to add to my personal collection but this is definitely one of them. A wonderfully acted and beautifully scored story. This film didn't need foul language or cheap or even expensive special effects. Just a pure story of a child and his best friend.

For a period of about 3 years I went without a good new Orchestral CD, my last one was by Hans Zimmer, Crimsom Tide. Then I saw two movies that changed that, Shawshank Redemtion and My Dog skip. Shawshank was a veary powerful movie, but My Dog skip was the only movie that made me cry at the end in 10 years. The music reflects the movie in such a manner as well. The music however reflects not the movie to me but the emotions felt during the movie. This is one of the few that do that for me. But one must see the movie first, I rented it I liked it so much I am buying the DVD.

William Ross and Varese Sarabande present a warm and touching score produced by Robert Townson - "My Dog Skip", about a boy and his dog during the period of World War 2 and the different turn of events that effect them both. The music works well for this nostalgic film set in Mississppi, each cue tugs at your heartstrings with sentimentally. This soundtrack is "Pure Americana", very traditional and wonderful in listening respect. The orchestration is magical that stir up forgotten memories of days gone by.

Highly recommend this album - shades of "Forrest Gump" (1994) by Alan Silvestri, which isn't bad company to keep. So film and score collectors enjoy and remember your own childhood with ' "My Dog Skip"!

This soundtrack is awesome. I just saw the movie for the first time since it was at the theaters in 2000. I was just a little kid at the age of 11. Bought the soundtrack two weeks ago. Right away it made me remember scenes from the movie that had been faded to the back of my mind. The music is very touching and can get to you. I am not a emotional person, most of the time. I started tearing within 5 minutes of listening to this music. Definately a great soundtrack that I will embrace for the rest of my life. Even if you've never seen the movie you should try this soundtrack out. It is very very, touching.

Outstanding music for an outstanding film. Well-orchestrated score that goes along with a fine film. Many selections are poignant and can bring tears to one's eyes. If you have seen the movie, My Dog Skip, then having this CD is a must. It is a reminder of the tender love of a dog and a tribute to all pets.

Simply a delight to listen to. The sountrack like the movie has the same innocence of Forrest Gump. The music was perfect for the movie and can stand alone as a musical work. If you haven't seen the movie, see it. If you have seen the movie, you will purchase this CD.

I can't say enough good things about this score. Right from the start you will notice a similair style to Forrest Gump, but considering Ross was the orchestrator on Gump, it's no wonder that this score has the same admirable qualities. Rarely do you get a film score that has this much heart. You can hear it and just sense it from the performance of the orchestra. I am a big collector of film music and I always find myself coming back to this CD for times in life when you need some simple and beautiful reflective music. William Ross has composed a gem here and I highly recommend it. One listen and you will be hooked (or leashed I should say...)
