5.0 out of 5 stars Clearly explains the basic premises to learn all dances., June 30, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Skippy Blair on Contemporary Social Dance: Disco to Tango and Back/Plus Teacher's Breakdown for the Universal Unit System (Hardcover)
First written 20 years ago and later updated, this book clearly explains the basic premises to the understanding and study of any dance form, new or old. Ms. Blair stresses that rhythm differentiates the dances from each other. Thus anybody will have no problem learning any dance. For me, it was a rediscovery of the dance principles which I had always known for decades yet had simply taken for granted. The book has given me a new perspective and renewed creativity in dance teaching.
