4.0 out of 5 stars Love it, with minor wish list
I got this for my iPad, and it works well, easy to travel with, easy to access contents. no complaints at all. But I do have a couple of wish list items. The pocket for the iPad is too small IMHO. It holds the iPad, but just, and it can't be in any case, or skin. I'd rather it large enough for at least apple's case, and maybe a bit of stretch in the pocket...

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but not great
I did a lot of shopping around for a carrying case that could accommodate my iPad and laptop. This bag does that plus could carry an old fashioned writing pad. It is not a bad carrying case, bit it feels flimsy. The handle feels cheap like it may tear away from the bag very easily. Also, the plastic piece that attaches the side of the bag to the shoulder strap twists...

Also I'd like a pocket on the outside large enough to put my iPhone, or whatever. Not a form fitting iPhone pocket, but one large enough, some padding maybe where I can drop something like the phone, or a camera into when I strip down to go through airport security.

Am I going to keep using this bag, yes indeed. -JD-

I've had this case for 8 months and travelled extensively on two continents with it, so take this as an extended-use review.

I'm a technical trainer and I travel a lot so weight and bulk are my sworn enemies. I bought this case to carry my Macbook Air 11" and iPad plus all the related accessories I need as a modern road-warrior. The Macbook fits perfectly in the main compartment and the iPad plus a thin sheaf of papers in the smaller pocket. I'm able to carry everything I want, even an in-flight paperback with no problems. I'm delighted with the weight and the form factor. Sure, I have to ruthlessly watch what I pack but that's exactly what I wanted, a case to help me pack light and ease back-ache. Fully loaded the bag is comfortable on the shoulder and the included shoulder pad is nicely rubberized to prevent slipping off during a rushed gate-change at the airport. The front flap closes via a buckle as well as velcro. I usually just use the velcro.

One quibble. The shoulder strap is made of a very lightweight webbing. One end is stitched well to the side of the bag, the other adjustable end passes through a standard flat plastic eyelet which is itself stitched to the bag via a short loop of webbing. The problem is that the webbing is so light that it slides to one end of the plastic eyelet and bunches up in an unsightly fashion. This happens both to the shoulder strap and the short loop attaching the eyelet to the bag. Not just unsightly, this also makes the strap harder to adjust. Skooba desperately need to redesign how the strap and case connect.

So, would I buy the case again? Probably yes, because I have not found anything better suited to my needs. I really hate the ugly bunched up shoulder strap however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bag!, August 23, 2011

I have had this bag about a month and love it! I wanted a smaller bag to carry my ipad and a few client folders plus my cords for ipad. This is perfect. Take note though it is a smaller messenger bag. Don't plan on putting bulky items in it because it is fairly narrow. The construction is very durable and the strap is very comfortable on my shoulder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoulder Bag!!, May 31, 2011

This bag is great! I have been on the look out for a nice messenger bag that was either not to big, or not to small. And I also wanted to find something that did not look purse like. This bag fits the bill. I have my iPad, Macbook, and all the cables, chargers and accessories well managed in its pockets. There is also still plenty of room for paperwork and other things. The soft pocket on the outside edge holds my iPhone perfect and is within easy reach when it rings. I have a coupe friends who are considering this bag after seeing mine.

Recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but not great, February 6, 2011

I did a lot of shopping around for a carrying case that could accommodate my iPad and laptop. This bag does that plus could carry an old fashioned writing pad. It is not a bad carrying case, bit it feels flimsy. The handle feels cheap like it may tear away from the bag very easily. Also, the plastic piece that attaches the side of the bag to the shoulder strap twists the material and distorts the strap. Neither are terrible issues but the bag is not something I will use evey day like I had hoped. The price is good, but if you want long term use and heavy usage, this may not be the ideal bag. I will probably try to resell it in about a year.

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent bag, zippers not so great, February 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The layout of the bag is excellent, and I managed to use it for a recent trip without carrying any other computer bag--it help my ipad, charger, and other technical supplies along with a book and a few magazines. The zippers are really bad, however. I broke one almost immediately (with some fiddling, got it working again). They seem very finicky and prone to breaking. For the price, a good bag, but be careful with the zippers.

Love it so much, I just bought a second one, just to store it in the closet. Might even get another to store in another closet. I have a bit of a bag problem. But I use it every time I leave the apartment. I can grab it and go, confident I have everything I might need to get through the day. Just add a magazine for the subway ride and I'm set. Endless pockets. Perfecto. One thing: this bag is an upgrade on the virtually identical previous bag. Only one of the three changes is big and sad to say, it's a mistake (in case you Skooba people read this). The strap has a different fastener. The new one bunches up on one side and puts the strap into permanent disarray on first usage. VERY disappointing. One in-house test and Skooba would have dropped the concept. But nooooo... So get the older version if you can. But in any case, get it. Great product!
