4.0 out of 5 stars Love it, with minor wish list, May 10, 2010

I got this for my iPad, and it works well, easy to travel with, easy to access contents. no complaints at all. But I do have a couple of wish list items. The pocket for the iPad is too small IMHO. It holds the iPad, but just, and it can't be in any case, or skin. I'd rather it large enough for at least apple's case, and maybe a bit of stretch in the pocket.

Also I'd like a pocket on the outside large enough to put my iPhone, or whatever. Not a form fitting iPhone pocket, but one large enough, some padding maybe where I can drop something like the phone, or a camera into when I strip down to go through airport security.

Am I going to keep using this bag, yes indeed. -JD-

4.0 out of 5 stars Great with one glaring fault, October 2, 2011

I've had this case for 8 months and travelled extensively on two continents with it, so take this as an extended-use review.

I'm a technical trainer and I travel a lot so weight and bulk are my sworn enemies. I bought this case to carry my Macbook Air 11" and iPad plus all the related accessories I need as a modern road-warrior. The Macbook fits perfectly in the main compartment and the iPad plus a thin sheaf of papers in the smaller pocket. I'm able to carry everything I want, even an in-flight paperback with no problems. I'm delighted with the weight and the form factor. Sure, I have to ruthlessly watch what I pack but that's exactly what I wanted, a case to help me pack light and ease back-ache. Fully loaded the bag is comfortable on the shoulder and the included shoulder pad is nicely rubberized to prevent slipping off during a rushed gate-change at the airport. The front flap closes via a buckle as well as velcro. I usually just use the velcro.

One quibble. The shoulder strap is made of a very lightweight webbing. One end is stitched well to the side of the bag, the other adjustable end passes through a standard flat plastic eyelet which is itself stitched to the bag via a short loop of webbing. The problem is that the webbing is so light that it slides to one end of the plastic eyelet and bunches up in an unsightly fashion. This happens both to the shoulder strap and the short loop attaching the eyelet to the bag. Not just unsightly, this also makes the strap harder to adjust. Skooba desperately need to redesign how the strap and case connect.

So, would I buy the case again? Probably yes, because I have not found anything better suited to my needs. I really hate the ugly bunched up shoulder strap however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bag!, August 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have had this bag about a month and love it! I wanted a smaller bag to carry my ipad and a few client folders plus my cords for ipad. This is perfect. Take note though it is a smaller messenger bag. Don't plan on putting bulky items in it because it is fairly narrow. The construction is very durable and the strap is very comfortable on my shoulder.
