1.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly cheap plastic
Although these were only $20 headphones, I expected a lot better. The $4 headphones I bought along with this pair were much better quality, fit, etc. This pair feels like they are literally toy headphones that came with some kind of a game. If you want to spend $20 just to have the Skullcandy brand/name, then these should work fine. But, if you want something that...

If you want to spend $20 just to have the Skullcandy brand/name, then these should work fine. But, if you want something that of passable quality for your $20, look elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall, OK sound, January 21, 2009

After hearing so much about Skullcandy headphones, I decided to try a pair out for myself. I'm not overly impressed by the sound quality. If the volume is at a low volume, the bass seems to have static. If you turn them up loud, it sounds OK. For a cheap pair of headphones, they work for my needs, but audiophiles will be disappointed.

My nephew recommended these. I had an expensive pair made by Sony that were so uncomfortable on my head. You cannot beat these for comfort, price, and sound quality. I would definitely recommend them.

Avoid this headphone if at all possible. I bought around X-Mas when the price seemed too good to be true. Since I got free shipping with Amazon Prime so what did I have to lose right? Well a lot! The sound is just horrible I am no audiophile but I can tell you this a even below the Sandisk Sansa earbuds which I were barely passable.

The Skull Candy has virtually no bass and I am not even a big bass nut. The treble are virtually non-existent all you get is midrange. I can think of a dozen Chinese knockoffs on auction sites that sound better than these. What a shame for an American company.
