(mostly) Just the facts,
By
This review is from: Skullcandy Double Agent Headphones (Electronics)
Originally I was looking for some sort of wireless headphone to work with a non-bluetooth MP3 player, and wasn't able to find anything without an adapter that was generally larger than the player itself. I had been checking these out as a potential solution, but could not find any reviews that weren't straight from the companies description of the product, to help me decide. My BF solved my indecision and just bought them for me.
Personally, I love them, but I can see a lot of things other people may not like. Here's just the facts. 1.Wireless and really light. 2.The sound is not Connoisseur quality. If you are used to cheap earbuds like me, then they are fine, if you favor a robust pair of Sennheisers, I wouldn't risk it. Low and bassy, but the highs are muffled. 3.Headset is tight, which although good for me, may not be good for people with larger heads or who are more sensitive to excessive pressure on their ears. The good side is they don't fall off during anything, jogging, gym, working on projects, random frolicking in your house, etc. 4.I dig the oddball color combinations, but other people may find them too flashy. There is an all-black one however. 5.Interface is totally no frills. play/pause, volume, and next. You can put your music on it in folders, but not actually jump from folder to folder. (or at least the instructions don't tell say you can.)Again, plus for me, waste less time preparing my music and spend more time actually hitting the gym, but could be a minus for many. 5. No shuffle feature. I never use shuffle. (going from classical to house to black metal in 10 minutes makes me neurotic..) 6. Hour long charge gets you about 8 hours of play. charge via USB.(joy!) 7. You can very clearly hear button clicks while wearing them. Not so good if you want to go 50 songs forward. 8. Comes with a cord to plug into an mp3 player if needed. 9. Interface and charge are totally USB plug and play. 10.Comes with 1 GIG SD. 11. Buttons are easy to reach and press, but the symbols are not very raised. May take a few trys to get the right button before you get used to it. Basically, if you just need a no-frills wireless solution for an active lifestyle, these fit the bill. What I imagine to be the big issues for most people are the sound quality and the tightness. Although I am very pleased with them, I would advise most people to try them on and listen to them first if you can.

Not worth it...,
This review is from: Skullcandy Double Agent Headphones (Electronics)
I had been looking for wireless headphones for some time now...I was convinced I'd get a Bluetooth headphone set, so that I could wirelessly play music from my music phone (LG Dare), but I decided against it after reading bad reviews on Amazon that said the Bluetooth set in question frequently lost connections, etc. So I decided to get the Skullcandy Double Agent headphones instead, in order to meet the wireless features without worrying about lost connections.
The Double Agents look cool enough...I really like Skullcandy for putting effort into designing their products. The two things about these headphones that I didn't like were comfort and the use of the SD card. The sound, on the other hand, is subpar when compared to other Skullcandy headphones, but reasonable. I'll explain below: COMFORT Maybe I'm spoiled because I got a pair of Skullcandy Skullcrushers in the same order as these, but the Double Agents were not nearly as comfortable as the Skullcrushers. They were tight on my head, and it felt as if the earcups were not fitted correctly (I put on L on my Left and R on my Right, but still felt like something was off...). Not painfully uncomfortable, but not as comfortable as other Skullcandy headphones out there either SD CARD A brilliant idea on the part of Skullcandy, the fact that you are wireless since you listen to music off of an SD card can become an inconvenience when you realize there is no 'Shuffle' feature. You WILL get tired of listening to songs in the same order in which you transferred them to your card! SOUND QUALITY The quality is sub-par, especially when compared to my Skullcandy Skullcrushers! There is bass, but it's not too strong, and being a big fan of bass I'm not too thrilled with that :-) Either way, I knew I was buying these more for the convenience of being wireless than for awesome sound, so I'm not too upset... FINAL THOUGHTS The fact that these headphones aren't the most comfortable in the world, combined with the lack of a shuffle feature can make the Double Agents frustrating. The sound quality, while not up to par with other headphones, is pretty decent considering you're listening off an SD card that frees you from wires (FYI, you can listen to them wired, but that defeats the purpose of wireless headphones!). The battery life is pretty decent (about 8 hours a charge), which means you can take these on the go, only thing that would have made them more useful is if they could bend or fold up. All in all, these seem like a great concept, but it's almost as if they were rushed out. No shuffle, no foldable design, for a pair of headphones in this day and age makes me wonder how much harder it would have been to include those features! Nevertheless, I don't regret my purchase, so while I can't wholeheartedly endorse, I can say they're not bad if you don't mind the aforementioned inconveniences. If you're looking to sport a new pair of headphones, I'd recommend the Skullcrushers instead Skullcandy SCS-SCBP3.5 Skullcrushers Subwoofer Stereo Headphones (Black Pinstripe). The Double Agents aren't bad, but they're not that great, either. If you're looking for reliable wireless headphones, though, they are pretty good for the price.

Great for it's intended purpose,
By Dan H "AwesomeSauce" (Utah, USA) - See all my reviews

I like the Skullcandy "Double Agent" for the same reason that I like the iPod shuffle: Simplicity. I can navigate through songs with the tap of my finger, and without fumbling around with the device in my hands and looking at a screen.
That's where the similarities end though. Granted, there are other headphones out there with built-in MP3 players as well, but I believe Skullcandy is the first to bring us this concept in conjunction with comfort and quality. These things feel great. The sound quality leaves a little bit to be desired, but it's still very good for most types of music. There is ONE oddity about this product that took me a few days to figure out: Once an SD card loaded with songs is inserted into the earcup, what order are they played in? This confused me for a little bit. First of all, there is no "Shuffle" button (which is mainly why I took off a star). This is a feature that many ipod-shuffle-lovers would have appreciated, and it shouldn't have been hard to implement. But they didn't do it. So, do the songs just play in alphabetical order then? Nope, not that either. Not by songs, artists, albums, or anything... no alphabetization. This had me stumped for a while, until one day when I was loading additional songs, and I figured out that tracks simply play in the order that they are added. That's it. If you load a new song, it will be the last track that plays, and the songs will play in the same order one after another until the whole list repeats itself. Interesting to say the least. Overall I recommend this to people who want a quick, on-the-go music solution that they can quickly slap on their head without fumbling with wires. They feel great, sound great, and with SD cards, you don't have to fool around with any type of proprietary drivers or software.

Double Agent headphones vary in sound quality,
By
This review is from: Skullcandy Double Agent Headphones (Electronics)
I've bought two pairs of the Double Agent headphones from two different retailers (brown/white and emerald white colors). Both sets are the same in two of the main complaints about these headphones, the wear comfort and the lack of shuffle mode. But they differ in sound quality. The brown/white set sounds much better than the emerald/white. At low volume levels and/or quieter sections of the music, the emerald/white headphones produce very noticeable hiss somewhat like a cassette tape player without noise reduction circuitry. Also, the emerald/white headphones produce a click when switching between one song and the next.
The brown/white headphones have much lower levels of hiss and no audible clicks between songs. They just sound a lot better, even at low volume. I notice that the model number for the brown/white headphones is MP640. The model number for the emerald/white set is S6DABZ. If I were purchasing a set now I would choose the MP640.

Sounds good on paper,

I am updating the review
Pros - Sound has better bass and less environmental noise interference than wired mp3 player I use to use. I love how these cup your ears to block out traffic, good for walking. Running or very hot days your ear area will sweat. Good sound, my mp3's are usually 256kbps or higher so sound is of good quality. Some mp3s do sound of lower quality or more muffled due to the their low quality, especially the 148kbps. The higher the volume the better the quality and bass. To tell the truth these things absolutely ROCK!. Have I heard better quality earphones, absolutely but for the price and simplicity these can't be beat. Why the orange/brown, they were cheaper(Thank goodness I'm a BROWNS fan :P) Wireless so no cords will catch tools/equipment and rip the headphones off my head which use to happen all the time with the wired unit. I have no problem with ear cushions. I due have to make minor adjustments sometimes just to accommodate for my earrings, but no big deal. CONS: The usb cord is a dedicated cord and skull candy hasn't sent me a replacement in the 3-4 months since I've been emailing. Lately I've been having trouble syncing this unit up to the computer(charging and loading files). I had to lock the sd card to charge and use a sd reader to load files. The controls did not take long to get use to, though I wish the center(play button) was raised, this would make finding the other buttons easier. It is hard to insert and remove the sd card if you don't have a long fingernail, I have to use a plastic pen cap. Could not get unit to fast forward or rewind. The skip forward and skip reverse button appear to be in opposite directions from the play button, No big deal I figured this out quickly. I never use shuffle feature, so that's no big deal. Lately the unit has been having a pause before the next track and it gets cut off, not an enjoyment to listen to. I recommend these units for walking and light landscape or maintenance work.... THE LATEST- now I no longer would recommend these units. My cheaper no name mp3 player still is lasting without any problems and the circuitry out shines these units. The technology or these devices sound good on paper, maybe another company will come out with a better unit or these will improve. These Skull Candy units didn't even last a year without some type of glitch occurring let alone 2 or 3. A note one review says you have to start at the beginning when you turn unit back on, not completely true I usually push pause then turn off unit and I always end up at the beginning of the song I was listening to.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Skullcandy Double Agent Headphones (Electronics)
Well to start I'd have to say I was totally unhappy with them. Of course they aren't bad headphones at all IF they work when you get them and IF they last after that. I've recently purchased 2 of these, the same kind, one for myself and one for my bf. He received his first and within a week the cord that hooks from the computer (or other device) to the headphones broke. My set came and I found that they wouldn't even charge and the MP3 player wouldn't play at all. The only two options were to send them back to amazon and receive a refund or send them to skull candy and wait a minimum of 4 weeks before they are even processed. But from what I hear from my bf the battery life is great and the sound is great. Though they are a little tight. I guess my suggestion would be to buy them from the Skullcandy site itself.

They do not fit well in the ears. Kinda bother the fact that's stuck to your head and hurt (a little) your ears. But it's cool and some tools to fix that resolve the problem.

I got these thinking they were wireless bluetooth, they aren't, so if that's why you're buying them, I would choose a different set. This is the only reason I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5.
That said, I highly recommend buying from skullcandy. I got my headphones, and couldn't get my pc to recognize them, i noticed the light flashing on and off, and when I listened to them, I noticed the microUSB port on the headphones had a bad connection. I could wiggle the cable, and they would play, but soon drop out again. I emailed the company, and have another set on the way...same day RMA! They went out of their way for me, and I really appreciate that, especially on a small item like this. Now, the sound... they really sound great. I've been using earbuds for so long, these are so much better. Deep bass, and a full range of sound. One drawback is that they are pretty small still, and sit on top of my ears, so I can't wear them for more than a couple of hours (I wear them at work). Also, the chargeable SD card is cool, you can load music onto them, then take the headphones with you, unplugged. This is the 'wireless' feature. I don't see them as replacing an iPod, but when you want noise cancellation, and no wires, I think they will be perfect.

Very nice headphone at this low price. The orange color is not too bright, the design is cute, and the length is adjustable. However it took me a while to figure how to use it wirelessly, because the SD card was "lock" while I accidentally touched the little switch on the side of the card, so it couldn't play the music. The sound quality is good, and the battery last long enough until my ears get hurt by wearing it for too long. I like the fact that the wires are protected by some kind of strings so it's not easy to tangle. I also like that it can be used wirelessly and wired whenever you want. I bought this headphone partly because I need a soundproof handphone for gun shooting practice. I haven't try it yet, but I think it would work, (but maybe need an additional ear plug, since it would be very loud.) I do wish that the covers over the ears would be a little bigger, I have small ears, so it covers fine, but it's still a little not comfortable when wearing it for 2 hours.
