I bought this one about a year ago and use it when going on long walks and bike rides. It's terrific. The speakers work really well and while you're tooling along listening to your music as loud as you like it's not *terribly* loud for folks who are out there enjoying nature. Note that it's louder than using headphones of course, but the design of the speakers in the straps works pretty well putting the sound where YOU need it.

I've not yet managed to try to use the telephone features, I can plug my phone in but have never arranged to have someone call me so that I can see whether it works but I can't see why it wouldn't... just haven't tested out the feature as of yet.

It takes a little work to get the ipod connection up and running and it's a good idea to put in fresh batteries when you're off on a long hike rather than having them give out. I did fine on a 3 day 50 mile walk, running the music pretty much all day long, so it gets good battery life. Read the manuals that come with the backpack if you have any problems getting your ipod/mp3 player hooked up and running. It's a little counterintuitive, but once you get it going the first time it's easier thereafter.

One thing, I don't really like the water bag that came with this backpack. The nozzle was stiff and hard to use, so I went ahead and bought a camelbak brand water bag to replace it. It works great with the replacement bag, but worked all right without it. Your Mileage May Vary.

I use this pack to entertain me while I mountain bike up long climbs on single track. It's light weight, well set up, has plenty of room inside, and very durable. It really makes the time go by fast. I use a very small MP3 player with it. I used it over 25 hours so far and haven't had to change the amplifier batteries yet.

If I lost this pack, I would go right out and buy another one.
