Cons: The cord is not replaceable and a broken cord will make the (expensive) headphones useless.
New Yorker
These headphones sound very good, with present, punchy, but not overpowering bass, clear mids, and extremely clear, almost sparkly highs.
Electroman949
They sound great, they look great, they're comfortable and they are affordable compared to other headphones similar to it.

Just got a pair of these awhile ago. All's told, it's quite a solid headset. They're not like your typical Skullcandy earbuds and not like the Low-Riders, Skullcrushers, or GIs. This is actually an incredibly good headset for all types of listening.

The company is notorious for having a lot of bass on their products; so much that it drowns out the highs in an audio file. I've own their earbuds in the past, and honestly, the bass on them was too much. I own a pair of UE 700s and Monster Turbine Pro Golds, and although both companies are fine tuned for the same concept, the bass in each of those earbuds is not strong as the Titans or 50/50s. Those headphones will give you the bass when you need them, but not destroy your music overall.

These guys however... are different. The first thing you'll notice is that they're quite comfy on the ears. They're not an active noise canceling headphone, but they produce passive sound isolaion, meaning your music won't bleed out to the extent that others will hear it. The sound on them is fantastic; Skullcandy put a lot of work into these guys to make something worthwhile. The bass is still there, but toned down to the point that everything else seems clean, and not as muddy as the in-ear buds are. You also get the nice Track/Volume Control/and Mic if you have an iPhone, and a very slick carrying case.

I've tried listening to all sorts of music, from Daft Punk, to Yellowcard, to classical, and even 8-Bit. The Aviators do prove to be quite fantastic in sound; for some reason they kind of remind me of the Shure SRH840s, just with a tad more bass.

The only gripe I have about them is the wire. It's a fabric while, and the plugin in a straight plugin.

The new Skullcandy Aviator headphones look great and sound amazing! I love the classic retro styling and the compact, ultra-portable design. Too often small headphones comprise quality for size but the Aviator defies this trend offering great sound in a compact and stylish package. Maybe its silly but I really like the included carrying case--just fold the Aviator up and it fits neatly into the case. This is definitely great for portability and travel.

But how is the sound? Although I would certainly not count myself in the audiophile demographic I do have a good ear and am picky about audio. I own a few expensive headphones right now including pairs from the Sony Studio Monitor series and M-Audio professional line. After spending several hours listening to music from many genres I can honestly declare I love the sound produced by the Aviator. It was bumpin' bass on my hip-hop tracks, put out some mighty fine vocals on indie rock, even the delicate tones of classical music sounded great. The Aviator also provides excellent left and right channel separation, one of my favorite parts of listening to music.

One of my concerns about any headphone is how comfortable they are during long periods of use. I'm pleased to report that the Aviator is exceptionally comfortable. The padded ear pieces fit comfortably over my ears and because they are so lightweight, they were very comfortable even after hours of listening.

Wrapping it all up, the Aviator is a excellent headphone worthy of your consideration and your hard earned money. If you love the classic retro styling then buy it because you're going to love the sound quality too.

i got this headphones after listening to them in an apple store, i have to say that they are very comfortable even with the glasses i wear, i use them at work mostly and i typically have them on for about six to seven hours a day without getting tired of having them on, like any headphones your ear my get a bit warm being that it's leather but it's nothing that i would frown about.
as far as the quality I'm not a sound expert but they sound great, a co-worker has the Bowers & Wilkins P5 Mobile Headphones and well to me both headphones sound great, and i can't tell the difference in sound quality my co-worker who is an audio geek says that they sound surprisingly well as well although somewhat un-happy that my headphones sound according to him almost the same when they only cost 1/2 the cost of he's P5 headphones

overall i am very happy with the headphones, i really recommend this headphones if you're looking for a set that is comfortable and you are looking for good quality and don't want to spend more than $200

4/5 stars since i don't like the fact that you can't change out the cord, some other headphones have it where you can just buy a replacement cord in case you get tangled in something and brake the cord but I'm just hoping that the design improves in the feature

At first, I hadn't even considered these headphones, as Skullcandy typically makes some of the worst headphones on the market. They are usually muddy sounding bass cannons that ruin the music. Imagine my surprise when I tried these in store, and they sounded fantastic!

These headphones sound very good, with present, punchy, but not overpowering bass, clear mids, and extremely clear, almost sparkly highs. They sound very well balanced, and sound great on mobile devices. My only two complaints are about the fit and the noise blocking. First, these seem to push the plastic on the inside of the earcup against your ears, causing pain after extended use. Second, these cancel out almost zero ambient noise, and in fact, sometimes amplify it. Other than that, these are fantastic headphones that are completely opposite of most of Skullcandy's other terrible offerings.
