Good headphones, but some problems.,
This review is from: Skullcandy (Product Out Of Date, Newer Version Available) G.I. Stereo Headphones - Rasta SC-RGI (Electronics)
These are great headphones, with 40 mm drivers the music sounds great and, personally, I like the colors and you can even change the cushion from green to black. My only problems were that they can get uncomfortable for long periods of time, especially if you wear glasses but overall, I like the purchase.

This headphones are great!,

Despite the terrible reviews for these headphones i still bought them. A lot of people said they felt cheap and broke really easily. I have had mine for two weeks and so far, no problems and no sign of breaking. There are really only a couple cheap feeling parts. The plastic piece outside the ear pads feels a little cheap but that is about it. After wearing these for awhile when you fist get then, they can get a little uncomfortable. But after a week or so, they get broken in, and you can wear them for hours on end and they dont hurt. The headband is very cushioned and pretty comfortable. These come with good add-ons such as a second set of different colored ear pads. There is one black set and one green set. It also comes with a bottle opener. Another thing a lot of reviews said was the sound quality isnt very good and there isnt enough bass. When i first got these i listened to some rap and the bass was great. I am also a drummer. Rock music sounds great on these headphones as well. THe only con that i really have for these headphones is they dont get loud enough for my liking. But us teenagers like to listen to music really really loud. I would really recomend these headphones.

Overpriced, cheap construction!,

I am a DJ, and I bought these headphones to spin at a few parties because I thought that they looked cool. Although they accomplished that purpose, the sound quality on them is far from spectacular and the construction is CHEAP. The plastic slider broke about a month after i bought them, and the actual earpieces are held in by nothing more than a few low quality plastic tabs. They constantly fall out and hang by no more than a wire, at which point you have to try to stuff it back in. They are also uncomfortable after you wear them for more than 45 minutes.
For the price, i would recommend you go for some sony or sennheiser phones. They will sound much better, and last longer.

SkullCandy headphones,

These are pretty cool headphones, but are definitely more meant to be a fashion statement than to really provide anything audibly spectacular for the audiophiles out there. Are a bit snug for my 'skull' but it is nothing I don't think a little wearing in could help-provided they don't bust! They come with extra headphone pads so youcan switch color schemes up just a bit. Also came with a nice pouch to keep them in. I like thevolume control dial on the headphone wire that is an independent control of your music player/computer's master volume. These headphones are nice on the eyes, but a little mediocre on the ears. I still love them!

I just bought these headphones a week ago and saw these weak reviews on these superior full size headphones. First they go around your entire ear and are very comfortable. But every hour or so you gotta just maybe put them on your head for a minute and you're fine. They have an extremely cool look, i've gotten many compliments on them and I'm a guy. The only thing though is that, I'm half Jamaican myself so I can easily pulls these off. Anyway, I love these headphones, they produce a great quality. But I suggest Burning Them In when you first receive them, make a playlist of strong bass and toned songs and let them play overnight on replay. The headphones diaphragm will loosen up and give an even better quality to these Skull Candies. Enjoy! Don't mind the name, it's my mom's account...Peace

Other than the cool colors that the headphones have, It Sucks.
The cord is way to short, and at full volume they are still low sounding. I got way better performance out of a $20.00 pair of Sony headphones.

they are not good, i expected way better from all the hype about these headphones, and the description they put on their website throws you off as well.

I gave this as a gift to a friend. He likes the rasta feel. It gave good quality sound and very durable, comfortable on the head. The only thing he didn't like was the headphone connection was too short. But overall he enjoyed this gift and even has a free bottle opener.

Decent headphones, but quality for price doesn't match.,

I recently bought these headphones and they feel and look nice. The sound though isn't up to par with the costs. I thoroughly enjoy music and listen to a wide range from classical to hip-hop from reggae to r&b so the spectrum of sounds that I'm accustomed to is pretty ranged. Although these are nicer than the stock apple earphones I was very disappointed at the sound for the price that I paid. I also own a sony mdr-nc60 and after listening to those for awhile I needed a cheaper set of earphones for the everyday occasion and the transition from that to these were exceptionally different. I understand I'm comparing two different tiered headphones, but for almost $65.00 at Fry's I was expecting a clearer, crisper sound. When I first popped these on I was pleased with the way they looked and the way they felt on my head. When I hooked it up to my iphone the sound felt like I had a pad between me and the headphones, it was a bit airy. It got a little bit better after I hooked it up to my ipod, but the sound didn't change that much. It just got louder. I listened to Al Green- I'm so tired of being alone, Wu-tang- CREAM, Damian Marley- Khaki Pants, Creed- Can You Take me Higher, and A Philharmonic- Canon in D. Although the sound is decent it didn't feel as good as it should be at the price. If you're looking for an upgrade from low end headphones these are a great upgrade but make sure you pay less than 45 dollars. But even at that price range I'd rather just go to walmart and get the Sony MDR-nc70 for 45. I'm not a sony advocate, but I do enjoy the quality of their headphones. Also take a peek at the Dr. Dre headphones, sennheiser, and ableplanet those brands I found out are also nice.
PS. if I could return these headphones, I would. Unfortunately it comes in those open resistant plastic covers which you have to destroy to open and Fry's only takes it back if the original packaging is still intact. But on a good note this comes with a bottle opener which is pretty awesome. |
