5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent set of headphones!
I picked up a pair on a whim when my old sony ear wrap ones (had them for about 6 years) were dying out. I thought they looked neat and I wanted something obvious. I usually listen to some music when I'm out shopping, and random strangers walk up to me and start conversations not realizing I'm listening to tune - can't make that mistake with these on my head...

I seem to be on a headphone quest, owning at least nine of them by now and I bought this one strictly on impulse not realizing I think these headphones are meant for a younger person ( maybe teen ot pre-teen) who may not be as concerned with the sound quality as they are with the look. The phones do look cool but aside from that they are cheaply made and the sound quality is poor. The bass is easily distorted and experimenting with my Zen Vision's equalizer settings didn't help. I returned these phones for a refund and would not recommend them for critical listening.

I am definetly not an expert in sound, or anything else for that matter but these headphones definetly look better then they sound. I hope this helps in making your purchase.

Great sound quality, LOUD, and not to heavy. They're definitely heavier than, say, a set of ear buds, but pretty lightweight. Most importantly, for me, they don't have a deathgrip on my head. They clamp on pretty tightly, but not so tightly as to give a headache. Overall, thoroughly pleased with them and will definitely check them out for future purchases.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, April 17, 2007
This review is from: Skullcandy SC-LOW Lowrider Headphone (Red) (Electronics)
I bought these to replace some old Koss "Princess Leia" headphones that just bit the dust completely the other day. I always say, if something breaks, get something better. These have small cups for small ears, especially small ears with excessive piercings. My old headphones had large pads and after an hour or two pressing on my earrings, would make my ears sore. These don't have a whole lot of bass, but are VERY clear and LOUD. Fantastic for my PSP (which now displays a Skullcandy sticker on it's face guard) and good for my laptop. NOT for home listening. It's got a very short cord (4ft.) These were definitely designed for people who want to wear them outside and don't want a cord getting in the way, and you could wear them all day. They're super-lightweight and with the swivel headband you really don't know it's there. Most importantly they're glittery, "Ruby Slippers" red with skulls and white and chrome and they say "I can't hear you."

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, February 2, 2007
This review is from: Skullcandy SC-LOW Lowrider Headphone (Red) (Electronics)
These headphones seem to have a good sound and are rather comfortable. If you have a large head you might want to flip them around (right to left). The swivel takes the pressure off the back of your ears, especially if you wear glasses. Nice look and the cord is a good length.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied, March 20, 2007

I would recomend these phones, especially to anyone who's invested about $250+ on an MP3 player (you may as well listen well!). They're collapsable, which makes traveling easy and the sound is still great. Much better alternative to ear buds which have more potential to damage ear drums or cause other discomfort. They also come with a stereo head for those of us musically inclined who use amps. I wouldn't reccomend them for use while running or other exercise beyond walking, but for style, comfort, and quality sound I give both thumbs up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool @ Any Age, October 22, 2007
This review is from: Skullcandy SC-LOW Lowrider Headphone (Red) (Electronics)
I bought these because they caught my eye on the rack. Aesthetically, they grabbed my attention. I picked up a package of the earbuds and the lowriders. The headphones were more appealing. The name gave me pause--to smile!

Even in the package, they seemed so light. As soon as I got home I pried them out of the clear plastic container and plugged them into my Nano. I must say, I was surprised they sounded so good. Today I received several nice compliments from adults of all ages.

Wore them all day with no discomfort. The sound was great for my purposes. I am a contented customer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth the Money!, January 20, 2007

These headphones sound as great as they look! Very comfortable too. The quality and workmanship are obviously a cut above many of the cheaper priced models on the market. You won't be disappointed.

I bought my lowriders (red/white) as shown in this pick, almost 5-6 years ago and they are still working as the first day I bought them. I have tremendous problems with my ears, especially with infections and a rupture when I was a child. Not only can you hear really well on low volume (I'm going by my comp. sound & Ipod Nano 1st gen.), but you have that cushy comfort of the head phones. grant it they peel after much wear & tear, but that's the outer layer.....the foam part is still in tact. The color has yet to fade, and both sides of the ear phones are still working in mint condition. I'm clumsy & destructive and let me tell you, if I can keep THESE bad boys for this long and they are still top notch quality sound, you will be very satisfied....period!!! (Too bad they didn't make my Ipod, I need a new one again.....d@#n Apple!!!!!!)

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh, August 14, 2009
This review is from: Skullcandy SC-LOW Lowrider Headphone (Red) (Electronics)
I bought these b/c I work in data entry and will go mad if I can't listen to something. The sound quality is good and they're comfortable enough but the longer I have them the worse the grip gets. I'm not saying I want a death squeeze on my head but if I lean back in my chair or sneeze the blasted things fly right off my head; walking around with them on at home is completely out of the question. So don't buy these if you want to move while wearing your phones
