Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

These stylish, over-the-head style stereo noise-canceling headphones actually double as a handsfree accessory for your phone, allowing you to switch between your music and your calls at the touch of a button.

The Proletariat Noise Canceling Headphones with Link come with one plug for the handsfree port of your mobile phone and a standard 3.5mm miniplug for a music player. When a call comes in while you're listening to your music player, you can either mute the music entirely or reduce it with the in-line volume control. A super-sensitive mic picks up your side of the conversation. The caller on the other end will not be able to hear the music you're playing.

The system supports mobile phone models with voice-dialing features, so you can make calls with the simple touch of the Proletariat Noise Canceling Headphones with Link console button. The button can also be used to access specific features of your phone, such as connect, disconnect, last-call redial, voice dialing, mute, etc.

Most phones are designed or can be programmed to ring into a headset automatically when a call comes in. Otherwise, you'll be able to feel an incoming call by setting your phone to vibrate mode and keeping it in your pocket or on your belt.

Noise canceling technology works by electronically producing sound waves opposite to the ambient sound outside your headphones. Canceling noise allows you to hear your music at lower volumes. NC headphones are ideal for use in noisy offices and during travel.

The Proletariat Noise Canceling Headphones with Link are joined by a hinged band that allows you to fold up the headphones for storage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silence..., April 15, 2006

These headphones are amazing. I've tried other lower cost headphones that claim to be noise canceling and they do not compare. There is the slight white noise hiss that any noise canceling headphones have - but with music playing you don't notice it at all. I wear these headphones without music to silence the annoying rattle of the air-conditioner at work - and it works great. The price isn't bad either. Also I have found the LINK cable very handy to talk on my cell phone with the noise canceling turned on. I would definitely recommend these headphones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost as good as BOSE QC2, August 5, 2006

I've owned several NC headphones including the Bose QC2. These headphones do a good job noise cancelling in the low and mid frequency ranges. They have a higher frequency top end than most noise cancelling headphones. The volume conrol on the headset is a nice feature. They do fold smaller than any comparable headphone. For the money these headphones are a good deal.

If money was no object, go with the Bose QC2. If not treat your Skull to some candy...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great set of headphones!, June 7, 2006

I commute an average of 3 hours each day, round trip. I needed something to listen to that would be comfortable, deliver fairly good sound, and mask loud, annoying mobile phone conversations on the bus. The Skullcandy Proletariat headphones do all that and more. I'm no audio engineer, but I know what sounds good to me, and these headphones are much nicer than my old JVC portables (HANC100), BUT you get what you pay for.

I loaned them to my housemate who also commutes on a train for a long distance. He also gave them a glowing report as well. Great sound, NC feature works well and they are comfortable. Now, I don't see much use for the mobile phone link that comes with the headphones, but I suppose if you absolutely must speak to somebody while you're listening to your MP3-like device, this set of headphones is ready for you.

Sturdy construction and they fold up, but I wouldn't describe them as truly portable, especially if you're used to jamming ear buds in your head...but they are superior to everything I've tried to date.

Worth the money. Give 'em a try, especially if you're considering a $300 set of Bose or the like. NOT comparing the two, just saying the price to performance ratio is really nice.
