These appear to be rebadged AOpen HP-590 headphones, which explains why I haven't been able to find the AOpen's here or elsewhere since they are now renamed.

These headphones are an excellent bargain. I have been using the same pair for almost two years. I bought two pairs thinking they would break quickly like other brand subwoofer headphones I have previously used. Thankfully, they have proven very durable despite my dropping them while still plugged in many times. Once you use these for gaming or music, it is hard to go back. It's like being in a car with a nice subwoofer.

I cannot afford to spend several hundred dollars on headphones, so I decided to try to find what I could get under $100, preferably way under and still get quality. When I saw that I could get an industry first subwoofer and a ninety dollar headphone for about $40, I decided to go for it.

They are worth the money you will pay on Amazon. They do look and feel cheap, but I still think they will last. Their sound is average at best without the subwoofer........very little bass.

The subwoofer does a lot for the sound. They really do more than vibrate.......they really give good quality bass.

The problem is the high end and midrange is lacking and a bit subdued. If you like rock or hiphop, or if you use it for gaming, this will be a really good headphone and a good buy. But these are not audiophile high end headphones by any means. Though I kept the Skull Crushers, I decided to upgrade to the Grado SR-60's for another $30. They were worth the cost and are the best deal for the money. I just depends on what you are looking for in a headphone and how much you can afford to and want to spend.

I have tried Sony V700DJ, it is OK but too expensive so I have to draw back.

Now I'm having this Skullcandy Crushers and I love it! This is what I summarize my feedback to the headphone:

What I like:

1) The bass amplify is really good even I haven't turn on the subwoofer vibration.

2) With the subwoofer vibration on, this headphone really rocks right into your head. The sound is solid and clear (not like some of the headphone emphasizes great bass but music come out blur and distorted by the 'strong' bass.

3) Very comfortable and won't hurt your ears after long hours of using.

4) Personally I like the skull icon, looks cool and the leatherette pouch gets another credit.

5) Comes with airline adaptor jack and 1/4" stereo adaptor jack, so that I can use it on flight or playing guitar.

6) With the quality of this and the price of $35, what else can you ask for?!

What I dislike:

1) Material is a little "cheap"

2) The middle joint of the headphone looks easy to fall apart, though mine is still good, I have to "handle it with care". (but I think it happens to most of the other headphones, even the expensive ones, check other review)

3) It would be better if they can make the subwoofer control a little smaller.

That's it. All the dislikes, I'd deduct half star on the rating. But this headphone worths it. If you are not a pro and just want to enjoy movies, games, music, etc. at home. Skullcandy Crushers won't disappoint you.

Great sound for the bucks! and do like the sub-woofer effect...which you can control so not to be to blasting! wear these a few hours a day and are rather comfy. not too bad for the money.and a battery seems to last forever!..been using the same one for a couple of weeks now on a average of 4 hours a day.

I'm very impressed with the bass response (that *is* this headphones' claim to fame) but the overall tonal quality isn't great. The midrange is kind of muddy and vocals sometimes sound over-emphasized. And the bass can give you a headache very quickly if it's cranked.

i have purchased a plethora of headphones in my day, i always find a way to break or lose or destroy them by accident. i bought the skullcrushers because they were on sale along with skull candy earbuds, and i was literally blown away by the bass. they deffanitley rattle your head around!and i have had them for like 4 or more years, theses babies have lasted me longer than any set of cans i have ever purchased. one time i thought they were blown but it was just a defective cd player. they still keep kicking . and eating up double A batteries. the only draw back from these set is coming home to use them only to find you have left the amp on and now u need a battery to enjoy your headphones. but even without the amp juiced the quality is pretty good with no bass. but once youve had it its just not the same and you gladly pop the batts. out of your remote control to get your bass fix.
skull crushers rock!

I thought these were really cool when I first got them. The vibrating bass is really cool at first. Then you realize that the overall sound quality is very poor. When the vibration is turned off, there is absolutely no low end at all. Its all highs and mids. The battery life is very poor as well. I bought these for $30 and I still think I got ripped off. The vibration does not compare to real bass. There is only one "feeling" you get out of this that makes every bass line from every song seem the same. Real bass has different frequencies. They are alright for playing games or watching movies but definitely not for music.

Bottom line they are cool at first, then you realize how much of a novelty they are. If you are looking for good sound, look somewhere else.
