5.0 out of 5 stars Especially Great For The Price!
Just received my headphones today and I must say that I am quite impressed. Out of the box I plugged it in for some "drills". First was to hear how fast these 40mm Titanium drivers could go - and... it passed with flying colors. It's speed was very crisp and very clear. Following high speed response test, was a homebrew bass test which my headphones, prior, didn't pass...

3.0 out of 5 stars I really wanted to love these headphones
I really wanted to love these cans. For a while, i convinced myself that they were great. In all honesty to myself, there not worth it. If your looking for a condensed opinion: Not worth 70 bucks, arguable worth the 40 I paid. For anyone who wants more detail, here's my in depth breakdown.

Look: Great. Obviously. Very great looking, these headphones have gotten several compliments from people.

Feel: The white/fur headphones are very comfortable for about an hour with the fake leather ear pads and are comfortable indefinitely with the fur pads. Unfortunately, those pads aren't great looking for a guy.

Sound Quality: Definitely the most important aspect of the headphones. The sound quality gets an above average but its nothing special. If your a true audiophile, avoid these phones like the plague.

Volume Level: Here is the first major problem: these things just aren't that loud. The standard sub par ipod earbuds are louder. Personally, this is a HUGE drawback

Durability: They feel pretty weak, it would take barely any effort to snap these things clean in half.

Overall, these headphones are... adequate. If you want a pair of headphones that look great, but lack in volume and sound quality (for the price) then i say buy them. If you care more about sound than style pass on these headphones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cozy Comfort, November 23, 2008
I really didn't think that I would like the fur. Skull headphones always are tight on my head, so wearing these with the default leatherette ear pads was a tad uncomfortable. So I swapped them for the fur pads, and wow! Instant Teddy Bear comfort.

The sound is OK. They aren't the Bose, but also don't come with a Bose price tag.

There is a 3.5mm cable coming out just one side, which isn't too long. Unlike earlier models of their headphones, it doesn't detach (too bad too). It ends in a 3.5mm jack. Then they come with a little longer cable to hook up with it, which also ends with a 3.5mm jack (they come with a gold-plated adapter though, so no worries.) The cabling is white to match the headphones, so that is a nice touch, looking polished. The side of each phone has nice embossing-another polished touch. These had some thought put into their looks, and don't look dorky like my last SC Proletariats. So, overall, I am happy with these (they are SC's replacement for a warranty, as described below).

You'll wanna know that this company really does honor their great warranty. I had purchased one of their other headphones here at Amazon. They developed a short in them. Now their warranty states that they'll replace them for free if the problem is on their end. If the problem is because you mowed over them, they replace them, but you pay 50%. Now I was concerned that the company would say to me that the short was my fault. So I sent them in for warranty (consumer pays shipping--and one may wanna insure too), and I hoped for the best. Well, I received better! They no longer carried my $100 model, so offered me a $100 credit to use for ANY item(s) on their website. I ended up with Full Metal Jacket Chrome buds AND this TI model, which went way over my $100 credit. Guess what? They shipped BOTH for free, and didn't charge me for the extra! Now this is an honorable company that bends over backwards to please. I am certain SONY, BOSE, etc wouldn't give me the time of day. Also, their customer service was patient with me, as I had many questions about the models. They answered each in a very timely manner. After spending about 1 1/2 weeks choosing, they said it would take a few weeks getting to me. Yep, exactly that too. Now if SkullCandy could give other companies lessons on what it means to honor a warranty...

5.0 out of 5 stars Especially Great For The Price!, July 18, 2006
This review is from: Skullcandy Ti Stereo Headphones White (Electronics)
Just received my headphones today and I must say that I am quite impressed. Out of the box I plugged it in for some "drills". First was to hear how fast these 40mm Titanium drivers could go - and... it passed with flying colors. It's speed was very crisp and very clear. Following high speed response test, was a homebrew bass test which my headphones, prior, didn't pass. Passing all but the last, which was nearly inaudible anyway. I then wore them for several hours and the leather touch earpads were a nice feature, but after the third hour my ears became a little sore. The volume, in my opinion, wasn't too loud, and the bass, in combination with a little knowledge of the utilization an EQ, it will balance well. The only part of the headphones that make me a little wary is the break in the cord where your able to control the volume, it appears to be made from a light gauge of plastic and may be vurnerable to crushing or fatigue. I was also pleased to find that it also came with a gold plated 1/4'' adapter and an extra pair of earpads... Oh, and a sticker. :p
But with all things considered, I was most critical with the sound quality, and - for the price - that is what passed so well. No, they aren't Bose quality headphones - but they aren't priced like them either, so it isn't as fair to contrast and compare. 5 for 5 from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it..., November 8, 2006

I bought these because I live with my ipod in my pocket, and was just sick of the cheap apple earbud things. I am very impressed with the sound these put out. They can handle whatever kind of music you throw at them, accurately and clearly. I love the way the bass sounds too. You can't beat these for the money, I'm a broke college student but I really needed something better and these delivered, especially for the cash. I love em.

4.0 out of 5 stars style vs sound, January 14, 2009
By
I got these headphones for my 12 year old son as a Christmas gift. He picked them out online based on the hip name and hip look. I wish he was a little more conservative so when i use them i could actually leave the house without ridicule. But my son loves the looks and they are adequate with regard to sound. A few days after my son got his present, the spoiled neighbor came by with his new headphones. He got the $180 Bose headphones so i figured i would compare the two. The Bose definately had a fuller richer sound with an emphasis on thumping bass. I alternated them back and forth, all the while the spoiled neighbor kid kept asking, "Whose sound better?". Instead of admitting his sounded better, i looked for ways to improve the sound of my son's set. I set his ipod EQ setting to acoustic and the bass showed improvement. Then when listening to the Bose the bass was too dominant. I reconciled myself with the fact that the headphones i gave to my son would less likely lead to hearing loss and really, the Bose bass did make me feel like they would lead to ear fatigue. In the end, if i owned the Bose i would probably reduce the bass with the equalizer while the SkullCandy sounded better with increased bass. Definately not worth the extra $100 for a child's headphones, but less flashy on the airplane for an adult!

I ordered a pair of these and they were defective -- sent in an RMA, never got a response, sent an email, never got a response to that either. Don't depend on the warranty!

1.0 out of 5 stars Best looking, worst sounding headphones., September 12, 2009
I'm so disappointed with the sound quality of skullcandy. I ordered three different sets. Ti, Skullcrusher and Asym. All sound pretty bad. Ti has no bass at all. The highs and mids sound pretty good but no bass no matter which mp3 player I used it on. Ipod video, Ipod mini, Sony and Sansa clip. Even with my headphone amp it only produced a little bit of bass. While they can handle tons of power and never distorted even at the highest volume they never really sounded good because of the lack of bass. Skullcrushers on the other hand has way too much emphasis on bass and distorts easily. The Asym is just bad all around. Muddy bass and the mids and highs are muffled sounding. My Koss portapros are fugly compared to these but they sound really good. Just the right amount of bass and the mids and highs sound great. I also own bose triport headphones, V-moda bass freq (tons of bass), Shure E2C, Shure SCL3, Technics headphones and an old pair of MB quart headphones and the skull candy headphones are by far the worst sounding cans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Customer Service, November 17, 2007
By
This review is from: Skullcandy Ti Stereo Headphones White (Electronics)
I bought a pair of these a year ago, and used them intensely for that time. The wear and tear of using them three hours a day, and throwing them in my backpack's outer pocket when not in use, took it's toll. I filed a warranty claim, followed the instructions, and expected $25 in the mail, the stated 50% refund for user-inflicted damage. Instead I got a whole new pair! The packaging and extras have improved greatly, and I love them even more. The sound quality is excellent, and the bass is great. I find that the cable is almost too short on my new pair, but an improvement from the 20 foot cable before. You get a Skullcandy Stencil, too. Yes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Product, Albeit Gaudy, February 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great pair of headphones, and even better at amazon's reduced price, I just wish the fur was removeable. I bought these when I was in NYC and when I returned to Tampa Bay the fur seemed more of a hinderance in this weather, I attempted to remove it only to find that the entire headband unravelled with it leaving me with an unuseable product. This was my fault, and even so, I contacted Skull Candy and they replaced them free of charge once I replaced the damaged unit. This was a huge plus, and I will definitely buy more of their headphones in the future, not only was the replacement free, it was an upgraded unit with less bulky plugs, bravo gentlemen, customer service at it's best.
