Videogame music continues to be a unique and surprising beast to this day; who would have thought you'd see a set of tracks for a fighting game that deal with somber/mellow undertones much at all? Or jazz intended to hold the mood rather than kick it up?

I have been a fan of Yamane's work in general, but the other composers here are hardly slouches. Just an excellent soundtrack all around, would buy again.

For a modern soundtrack, it really does a great job of restoring that feeling that you used to get from listening to the BGM of your favorite childhood games. Great work all around.

I was able to appreciate the soundtrack in-game, but having it without all the background noise really reveals how amazing it is. It's very well done, very catchy, and upbeat, while still holding that air of mystery. I love it.

I would recommend this product to anyone who likes music with heavy Jazz, Rock, or Gothic undertones. I bought the soundtrack before I even tried the game because I was curious. It does not disappoint. With works by Machiru Yamane, Vincent Diamante, and a few others, this soundtrack is an aural delight. I can't possibly back this product any more than I am and I strongly urge you to support the official release and enjoy these selections. 5/5

Skullgirls has one of the most unique soundtracks in a fighting game. Made by the same person who did Symphony of the Night, Skullgirls has a jazzy sound that you don't hear that often. From the calm and beautiful "The Lives We Left Behind", the sad and mournful "Daybreak", and the intensity of "Dirge of the Divine Trinity".
The jazz of Skullgirls may not be for everyone, but this is a video game soundtrack I highly recommend.

I've heard the asthetic for this game described as "Dark Deco" and nothing exemplifies that more than this soundtrack. It's a perfect blend of electronica and 30s-40s era jazz and big band (back on the beat). The stage music is just as exciting as you'd expect from a fighting game, and the story mode and menu songs are catchy and all around fun to listen to. dan/dan.

It's catchy! :D Fun to listen to for virtually any moment with that nice balance of jazz and upbeat "ready to rock" themes that fit the game perfectly.
