The soundtrack definetly matches the movie,

This soundtrack is mainly composed of background music and theme songs. The theme songs provide that spooky and secretive feeling that was simulated in the movie with the help of Randy Edelman and others. If you are looking for that sort of theme music, then this cd will be perfect. -Aside from the themes, there are a few songs at the end of the soundtrack by Lorna Vallings ("Taste") and BTK ("Rigamarole" - my personal favorite).

This is only the movie score and a few songs from the movie,

I saw the movie, and I purchased this CD to get the cool music that I herd in the movie. I am very disappointed in that when I bought this CD it was mostly the movie score which is NOT what I wanted. The score itself is excellent, it's more classical than pop music. The CD did come with four songs from the movie, but they weren't the songs that I wanted. I'm frustrated that Decca Records had marketed this to the 18-34 year olds. This CD is for middle-aged people in their 40-50's who like musical scores. I'm not saying that is wrong. However the movie was marketed for the "Internet generation" and not the "Baby boomers". I'm returning this CD and will wait for the "Real" soundtrack to come out.

All worth it for "Taste",

I just recently saw the movie and I wish I had seen it earlier so I would have gotten ahold of this before. The soundtrack is great, especially the opening theme, but the whole reason I bought this was for Lorna Vallings "Taste". I fell in love with it watching the movie and HAD to get this. I was a little disappointed in soundtrack over all cause there was another track that was in the movie that wasnt on the CD that I hopeing to get as well but... oh well after enough searching, I found the name of that track so I'm good now (If anyone is wondering what that Techno beat was going on when Luke is stealing the tape, its "Right Here, Right Now" by Fatboy Slim. So if your thinking of buying this just for that track, dont cause its not on here for some reason but you can find it elsewhere)Awesome soundtrack though and a must for any fan of the movie or anyone who loves the song "Taste".

A great film...,

...although I don't actually own this cd, I watched the movie last night at the cinema, I don't remember the score music being that brilliant, though one song stayed in my mind, called 'Taste', it was the fantastic song played over the steamy love scene and also at the end credits. Also the song that was played over the library fight scene was 'Right Here, Right Now' by Fat Boy Slim (who used to live next door to me!)

I saw the movie (twice) while I was studying in Canada... it's not out in the UK yet and ...loved it...I just loved the song Taste.. and sat through the credits to see who was singing it... and then ran off to the music store to pick one, two or more of her (Laura Vallings) CDs... to find NOTHING... So I bought this CD instead... Since then I've done internet searches etc etc... to no avail... Oh well... the CDs worth what I paid for it JUST for that song... If you've not heard it... you need to

Excellent Movie, and A Sountrack To Supplement,

If you liked the Movie, you'll enjoy the pictures and memories of the movie this CD brings back. It is a SOUNDTRACK, so don't expect much more than the Backround music you saw in the movie, but if your looking for that, it's here and GOOD too. The last Four Songs are good as well, one of the main reasons I bought it, plus I enjoy the main Theme Music of the movie. A good buy if you want backround music and some new sounds in music.

Pretty cool, but wanted more,
By Leah (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews

The movie was okay... didn't regret the rental, but I should have waited 'til it came on the movie channel. The soundtrack is pretty cool though - good if you collect soundtracks. There were some songs I wanted that were in the movie but not on the soundtrack. Lorna Vallings' song "Taste" rocks! She's got a lornavallings site and an entire CD that's vaguely like Melissa Etheridge, but with the same sultry/scruffy voice and sound as "Taste". Overall, Randy Edelman's score for "The Skulls" is mellow and symphonic/synthesizery - great atmosphere background music. It was a worthwhile buy, but isn't the most outstanding. A little under developed, like the tracks need to be longer to give them the time to evolve. Better than I expected and best listened to with quality headphones.

The skulls,

I pretty much agree that this CD is a very good background music, and that the Song "Taste" is the best on it. I was trying to find out more about the singer "Lorna Vallings" but could not find her anywhere. Did anybody out there know about her? Does she have more Songs or CD's?

A good score but it should have been longer.,
This review is from: The Skulls: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (2000 Film) (Audio CD)
the skulls was and excellent movie from rod cohen. the score was a very good thriller score with a good range of emotions. the tracks needed to be longer so they could develop more. this score does have a great race theme and a good love theme also. randy edleman delivers again. You listen to this one a lot.

great movie and breathtaking soundtrack; that is just what I can say ! I really liked the movie and couldn't help noticing the soundtrack, it is as powerful as the movie'plot and takes you where you don't expect it ! unfortunately, not all the songs are on the cd ... find them and you'll be a real skull !
